Beautiful Lake Balinsasayao and Lake Danao. Nature at its finest. We also went to Olayan falls and had a short city tour. We had our lunch at Alimyon Kapehan.
The guide was excellent, and the driver was readily available. The views were incredibly beautiful and well worth the price. The air was very pure, allowing for deep breaths, and it was slightly cool and refreshing.
The operator is one of the trusted tour groups in Dumaguete, so it comes highly recommended. The tour is something anyone visiting the city should do, but I do think the price is quite steep. If only they included lunch, that would justify the price. Overall, it was a great trip!
Nasiyahan kami sa malamig na panahon sa lugar ng kambal na lawa. Nagkaroon din ng side trip ang aming driver na si Alvin sa Painitan sa palengke ng Dumaguete para matikman namin ang 10-5-5 at sari-sari!
Beautiful scenery, starting from the registration area (a small lake) up to the main lake. A well-preserved place, our tour guide Mr. Eric assisted us very well. Note: do not wear slippers or slippery footwear as the steps can be moist or dewy; it's a forest.
We were not prepared for how arduous and dangerous the trek to and from the lake would be. The stone steps were very slippery and uneven. My son slipped at the top of the moss-covered stones and injured himself. Because of this, he and my husband could no longer continue with the tour and just waited in the nearby restaurant for me and my daughter to complete the tour. I'm a sedentary person so the long, rough, slippery hike was very difficult for me and my weak knees. I was drenched in sweat and also slipped once. While the lake was beautiful and the boat ride relaxing, it was not enough to offset the difficulties we went through to complete this tour. We should have been warned to wear the proper shoes to avoid slipping on the wet, moss-covered stones. This is not for the disabled, for the senior citizens who are not in top shape, and for children. As for the city tour, this was very disappointing. We just passed by Silliman University; our driver told us that we were prohibited from entering because of the pandemic. Then he brought us to have our picture taken at the Dumaguete stone sign, then at the bell tower near the Cathedral. Each stop took just about 5 minutes. Finally, our driver brought us to Sans Rival so we could buy some slices of cake and a box of silvanas. That's it. Our tour, which began at 9 AM, was done by 1:30 PM.
Dear customer, thank you for choosing Klook and for leaving this review. We take your feedback extremely seriously. We regret to hear about your unpleasant experience with your booking for the Twin Lakes Natural Park and Dumaguete City Tour. We have relayed your feedback to our local operator for the improvements. We truly apologize to hear that you had an unsatisfactory experience. Once again, thank you for your valuable feedback for us to serve you better next time.
The tour guide was very kind and took great care of us throughout the trip. The explanations were clear, and the entire itinerary was perfectly timed. I highly recommend it to everyone. It's a rather unique itinerary in Dumaguete, but it's a lot of fun.
We arrived around 11am so we headed straight to our early lunch first. Our tour guide, Aira, recommended Jo’s Chicken Inato. They have several menu aside from the inato. They are good. Then we proceeded with twin lakes tour. It started to rain when we get there. The trek down and up the lake is very slippery, it is best if you wear rubber shoes or other proper footwear. Bring also a waterproof jacket and/or sarong for cover just in case it will rain while you are in the middle of the lake, like in our case. But don’t worry, the boat man is also prepared, he has a big umbrella for cover. Although it is not enough. Since it is raining, we only went to Lake Balinsasayao. You need to trek farther down to go to Lake Danao. We went as a group, with a toddler and a pregnant, and it was raining so we opted not to go there. The raft ride was very relaxing, it will make you feel at peace with the sound of nature as your background. After the lake tour, we went straight to the city tour. We visited Silliman University and museum, passed by Rizal Boulevard for the #DumaGetmE photoshoot, then we were dropped off in our hotel. I suggest you also visit the Rizal Boulevard at night. It was nice to walk around and eat some street food along the boulevard. It was a nice experience except for the rain but the lake is still beautiful. If possible, go there in their dry/summer season. I also suggest that the tour guide assigned will tell something about the places we visited. Although she is nice and pretty, we didn’t get any information from her about the places we visited unless we ask her questions. It seems as though she is shy and young but I guess with this type of job, you need to assert yourself as a tour guide. Also, i expected to see some other places in the city like St. Catherine of Alexandria church, belfry tower, and souvenir shops but we didn’t go there. We went to a church, i wasn’t able to see if that is the Alexandria church. 😅 (as I’ve said, the guide is not speaking) Overall, it was a nice experience. Will still recommend it. Thank you, Klook!
