Passeio de Meio Dia pela Cidade de Coron

Sir Jay and James were absolutely an amazing tandem. Our tour guide is funny and hospitable, while the driver has great driving skills navigating through small streets in a huge van. It was a quick tour and Mt. Tapyas was definitely challenging even with my rubber shoes on. I bought cashews as souvenirs because Coron is the main producer of these nuts. The Maquinit Hot Spring was just fine. It would have been more relaxing if they had enough and clean comfort rooms. No one cleans it, there's no flush, and they don't have a shower area – they have an entrance fee, so I was expecting there would be some maintenance in the place, but sadly not. You might want to wear your aqua shoes if your feet are sensitive because the rocks can hurt sometimes.

It was great that the tour started at 3 PM, so I could relax in the morning. At first, I thought I might have joined a boring tour because it started with a church and souvenir shops, but the guide took a great video for us during the photo session at the port, which was fun! I was also lucky to have good tour members and made new friends, which made me happy! People who don't hike might have some free time, but it's also a good time to relax. The hot springs at night were magical, and it was a great refreshment after the hike. After the tour, I was dropped off in the city and was happy to go to dinner with the people I had befriended! I even met a couple I had met on the tour again at the airport, which might be possible precisely because it was a tour on a small island. I'm glad I participated!

The pick-up was early, we are 4 pax inside the van, it so nice that we visited all the places with not so much tourists. We really enjoyed the itinerary. The guide is good at taking photos and navigating the coron town tour efficiently. Going up to the Mt. Tapyas was really challenging, better be prepared, and the Maquinit Hotspring is perfect for our tired muscles. We bought some cashew nuts along the way.

The half-day city tour was enough to explore Coron. There were places we had already explored, such as the souvenir shop, church, and park, as our hostel was conveniently located near these attractions. The highlight of the tour was the Maquinit Hot Spring. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed soaking in the waters. It was incredibly relaxing after our climb up Mt. Tapyas. By the way, Mt. Tapyas was quite challenging, as I'm not used to climbing 720 steps. However, the effort was well worth it once you reached the summit, as it offers a breathtaking view overlooking Coron Island. It's advisable to wear comfortable shoes when hiking Mt. Tapyas and bring a bottle of water, as it can be exhausting. As for the Maquinit Hot Spring, it was about a 20-30 minute van ride, but as soon as you arrive, the water is just so soothing. I wish we could have stayed longer at the spring, but it was getting late, so we had to return to our hostel. Our guide, Kuya Jay, was very kind and informative. Overall, this tour deserves a 5-star rating. We loved every detail of the itinerary.

Sa huli, sulit ang lahat! Si Kuya Jun, ang aming tour guide, ay napakapasensyoso at napakaunawain. Siniguro niya na ligtas ang lahat. Marami rin siyang kinuhang magagandang litrato. Napakainit noon ngunit napakaganda ng mga tanawin para palampasin. Nasiyahan kami sa lahat, ngunit mahal ang souvenir shop. Ang pinaka-highlight namin ay ang Maquinit Hot Springs na kinagiliwan ng lahat sa aking pamilya. Ang pag-akyat sa Mt. Tapyas ay hindi kapani-paniwala! Magandang ehersisyo talaga. Gusto ko na may libreng tubig, bagaman hindi ito sapat, salamat na lang at may mga tindahan sa malapit kung saan kami makakabili. Maganda rin ang Lualhati Park, maganda ang mga tanawin. Nakakatuwang bisitahin muna ang St. Augustine Church sa aming itinerary. Sa pangkalahatan, nasiyahan kami sa aming biyahe.

The tour was well-organized, and everything ran on schedule. Our guide was informative, sharing interesting insights about the town that made the experience even more enriching. Our favorite stops were the cashew factory, Mount Tapias, and the hot spring. The tour had a relaxed, slow-paced vibe, allowing us to truly take in the beauty of Coron. We learned a lot about the locals and got to enjoy some of Coron’s best offerings, including the breathtaking view from Mount Tapias and the soothing seawater hot spring. We’re so glad we opted for the tour instead of going on our own—it was completely stress-free!

The main highlight is Mount Tapyas. While the climb can be quite tiring, it’s definitely worth it for the stunning views at the top. This is an excellent activity to do if you arrive early in Coron, as it doesn’t take a whole day and gives you a great introduction to the area.

Kuya guide is so patient with us. He gave us a tour and then eventually let us do our stuff during the Mt. Tapyas hike. The view is very stunning. A must try tour. Would definitely book it again once back in the island.

It was a fun adventure. Although climbing Mt. Tapyas was a bit tiring, the view from the top was very rewarding. The hot springs were also something new and a very good way to relax the muscles after that climb.
