The downside is that the entire three-hour performance is in Japanese, with no Chinese or English subtitles and no synopsis. 🥹 The first half is a one-and-a-half-hour stage play, and the second half is a one-and-a-half-hour dance show (featuring various amazing costumes, hairstyles, and makeup! This is a plus! 🤣). I originally thought it would be a niche event or one primarily for tourists, but the audience was all Japanese, and 99% female! The performance on May 24th was titled "Dia Day," which was close to the older Koizumi brother's birthday, so there were tons of fangirls there. 😂 It felt like I stumbled upon a cultural treasure! 🤩 Although it was a shame not to understand Japanese or the stage play, the second half was enjoyable as a dance performance, allowing me to experience this special event. 😍
A group of four, including two children, watched the show together. At first, we went to the wrong place; it turns out there are two Umeda Plazas, so you need to be careful. We missed the first 15 minutes. The entire performance was in Japanese and lasted 3 hours, with a 15-minute break after the first hour. The first hour was a comedy, and although I didn't understand what they were saying, the whole audience was laughing non-stop, and the character costumes were also very funny. After the break, there was a song and dance performance, like a fashion show, with some kung fu and group dances in between. Some fans were cheering, and the atmosphere was great! It's worth experiencing! 👍👍❤️
a fantastic evening. Very entertaining show full of culture and history. we spent the morning at universal studios and were very tired after so don't do that.
We enjoyed the show. It lasts three hours and is divided into three parts: dance, a play in Japanese, and the main dance. We entered halfway through the play, and even though it was in Japanese, we could understand a little from the context. If you're not interested in seeing the play, enter for the third part, which is only dancing. We were the only foreigners. It's a micro-theater type of show. The Japanese women (there was only one man) go there, drink sake, sing, dance, and enjoy themselves. You can record and take photos. At the very end, you can talk to the artists and take photos with them. Recommended if you have time and want to have an entertaining time without too many expectations.
I didn't really understand the play, but the dancing was phenomenal. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!
