This tour was more than we expected. Worth every penny!! Luna was such a fantastic tour guide. VIP treatment with the cable cars which gave fastrack through - it was worth it just for this. I loved exploring Tai O!
Really wonderful experience, Becky, our tour guide is so enthusiastic and patient, I do love her positive energy. Tai O Village is truly a must-see destination when you visit Hong Kong: beautiful scenes, tranquil sea village life and relaxing people.
We went on a Monday and the queue for the cable car was long. As we had booked a local tour for 12pm, the staff allowed us to use the priority line to board the cable car. Each cable car can accommodate a maximum of 8 people. The ride was about 25 minutes. The local tour guide, Luna, speaks good English, I would say. Together with 2 other tourists from the UK, the 5 of us took a private coach and set off for Tai O fishing village. We started with a boat ride to see pink dolphins, but we had no luck that day. After that, we visited one of the houses, then had some free time at the market. We tried the sugar doughnuts and mango mochi (recommended by the guide) and they were delicious! The tour ended with a walk to see the Big Buddha and the monastery.
The cable car was very fun and exciting! Miss Moon, the tour guide, was also very kind, considerate, and insightful! We were lucky that we saw a dragon boat competition in Tai O. I recommend availing a crystal cabin as the line for standard was quite long. I recommend this, if you also want to experience the provincial life of Hong Kong. But if you're more into the famous attractions, I guess just avail the cabin car and not this tour.
¡Altamente recomendado!
This was my first time on a local tour, and I thought it was fantastic 🌟! We visited Tai O Fishing Village, a place I'd never been to before, and took a small boat out to sea to look for Chinese white dolphins. Luckily, we spotted them! We also visited the stilt houses, which gave off a different vibe, like an 'Oriental Venice'! People still live there today! This itinerary not only included a ride on the Ngong Ping 360 cable car but also offered a glimpse into the lives of early fishermen. It was one trip where I experienced two sides of Hong Kong. (The only issue was that there were too many people for the cable car! We had to wait 30-40 minutes to get on! I recommend setting off early~)
Definitivamente una experiencia memorable. El guía turístico fue muy amable y complaciente. Ojalá el recorrido hubiera sido más largo. Ojalá podamos volver con la familia la próxima vez.
Our tour guide Moon did such an excellent job and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. She provided very insightful and humorous information at the start of each location. We were given enough free time to look around Tai O at our own pace as well as the Temple in Ngong Ping. A great way to experience Lantau Island.
Our Guide “Moon” was Lovely. Her communication via WhatsApp the day before the tour and the day of the tour was prompt and much appreciated. We really enjoyed learning more about the Tai O village and the Big buddah…. it was a much better experience than if we had of gone it alone on a self guided tour! Thankyou Moon & 360 tours for a wonderful experience 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
First, take the MTR to Tung Chung Station, then walk towards the Citygate Outlets. Pay attention to the signs on pillars and walls, which will have arrows pointing to the cable car ticket office. You'll need to take the cable car up the mountain to meet your tour guide. I recommend buying the more expensive Crystal Cabin ticket; it has a dedicated lane and significantly fewer people, so you won't have to queue for a long time. The path to the ticket office is a single queue for everyone, regardless of ticket type, for initial inspection and categorization. Klook customers have a dedicated counter. After scanning your voucher code, you'll receive a sticker for your clothing, an identification wristband, and a map of the meeting point. A staff member will then escort you to the boarding area. The cable car ride was longer than I expected, continuously ascending to the peak of Lantau Island. After exiting, follow the only shopping street forward until you see a red shop on your left. Wait by the advertising wall that says "Walking with Buddha" for your tour guide to find you. Our guide this time was Ms. Moon Sun, who was friendly and professional, providing commentary in both English and Chinese. The itinerary started with a bus ride to Tai O Fishing Village (where we took a small boat to look for dolphins, see the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, and the stilt houses; unfortunately, we didn't see any dolphins). Then we explored the streets of Tai O Village, eating and shopping (we received a HKD 10 voucher for purchases). Afterwards, we took a bus back to Ngong Ping Village to see the Big Buddha (requires climbing stairs, optional) and visit Po Lin Monastery, then we disbanded. For the return journey, simply use your original voucher code to scan for the cable car. The Crystal Cabin has its own separate queue, so don't foolishly join the long line; that's for the standard cabins. Just walk boldly towards the station, and you'll see the dedicated Crystal Cabin entrance, which is much faster!
Que bom saber
