Yasushi was een van mijn favoriete gidsen van alle reizen tijdens mijn verblijf in Japan - zijn energie was geweldig en hij was erg behulpzaam om ervoor te zorgen dat ons bezoek aan Shirakawa-go onvergetelijk was. If you have time, do the full-day tour! The tour goes from Kanazawa to Shirakawa-go, a winter wonderland with lots of snow and amazing historical A-frame houses. Then, it's back to Kanazawa to see the beautiful Kenroku-en Gardens and finishes in the Higashi Chaya district (Geisha district). We painted a Daruma doll and made a gold leaf postcard. Our guide was the wonderful Yusushi; he was so knowledgeable and friendly. His local and historical knowledge was fantastic. I highly recommend this tour.

Aiko was fabulous. She spoke very good English, Spanish, Japanese, and other languages. She was entertaining and educational, creating custom materials that enhanced the experience. The tour was a great way to see the village, garden, and geisha district, and to make candy and a gold leaf postcard. I recommend the full-day option. It's the best way to see it all.

J'ai passé un excellent moment. Notre guide Keita a pris le temps de nous donner beaucoup d'informations de fond. Nous avons fait la visite d'une journée complète qui comprenait la peinture du Daruma, ce qui était une activité amusante et un excellent moyen de voir également des parties de Kanazawa. Je recommanderais sans hésiter cette visite.

We had the most amazing guide for this tour, Yasushi, who made the day so enjoyable and relaxing. He gave us great and valuable information on the bus so we could have as much time to ourselves in Shirakawa-go once we arrived. His local food recommendations were spot on, some of the best food we have had. The gardens were beautiful and the craft sessions were a lot of fun and something a bit different and special to add to our trip. Highly recommend this tour.

The full-day tour was an excellent choice, allowing ample free time between each stop. This included the walk to the observatory in Shirakawa-go for the amazing view, trying the rice cake dipped in soy, enjoying an extra stroll in Kenroku-en Gardens (but only after Sakura had already given us a great guided tour), and finishing it all off at Higashi Chaya District with a hands-on gold postcard experience and a gold leaf ice cream to end the day perfectly. Everything ran smoothly and efficiently, thanks to both our tour guide Sakura and our equally amazing bus driver on March 26, 2009. An unforgettable thank you.

The weather was great, it was a fulfilling trip, and I took some wonderful landscape photos. Yasushi was a great guide. During the trip, I asked about the bear incident. I’m sorry my English isn’t very good — I was trying to make a joke to lighten the mood. I truly hope all disasters have passed and won’t happen again. Peace and safety are the most important things.

I had really wanted to visit Shirakawa after seeing it on Youtube. I thought a tour would be the best option especially as a solo traveler. Ciel was a very good guide, giving knowledge, history and humour during the journey. The timing for the tour seemed good, I was able to visit everything during the time as well as try out some food and shop for gifts. Ciel also gave additional knowledge on site and was always happy to help, offered food tips and was generally pleasant to be around. Highly recommend this tour as it seems like easiest and best way to explore Shirakawa and is early in the day to beat the crowds

Shirakawa-Go and Kanazawa were wonderful to explore. We made Wagashi (Japanese sweets) and tried making gold leaf postcards. Our guide, Yasushi, was very kind and gave us information about Japanese history and the places we visited.
