⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ AMAZING TOUR!! Raguraj, our coach leader was an excellent driver and guide throughout the tour. He was knowledgeable, professional, polite, and shared many interesting insights about the area, making the entire journey both enjoyable and informative. The service was outstanding from start to finish. The seafood dinner was delicious and exceeded our expectations. The highlight of the evening was, of course, witnessing the magical fireflies and the breathtaking Blue Tears phenomenon. Watching the water light up in luminous blue was truly mesmerizing and felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Everything was well organized, comfortable, and seamless. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area and looking for a unique and memorable nature experience. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip!
We had a good tour with Rahve, our driver. We had sufficient time at each stop – monkey feeding and the scenery at Melawati Hill, followed by dinner and finally the boat tour to watch fireflies and bioluminescence. Let the driver/guide know about your dietary preferences beforehand.
The trip was excellent. We were able to visit a different part of KL in one tour. We visited a temple, fed monkeys (you need to pay on your own), had pre-ordered seafood at Yang Ming Seafood Restaurant (the tour guide ordered the food in advance, remember to let the guide know if you have any food concerns), and went to see the fireflies and blue tears. The tour also offered hotel pick-up service. Highly recommended.
The trip is amazing, from historical sites to feeding monkeys, a close encounter with amazing nature, seeing a lot in just a few hours. An amazing seafood dinner with a million-dollar view. We enjoyed the trip very much.
After a leisurely stroll in the Monkey Park, we had dinner at a Chinese restaurant. The food was reasonably good. As the sun set, we boarded a boat, but instead of the rowboat mentioned in the guidebook, it was a speedboat for about 20 people. Go, Yamaha engine! After cruising for a while, the engine was cut, and we drifted along the grassy riverbanks by inertia. The fireflies glowed yellowish-green, but their blinking cycle was fast, and the person inside was the same designer as the first 5 meters of 'Pirates of the Caribbean' at Tokyo Disneyland. Then, the engine roared once more, and we entered the brackish water just before the river met the sea, where the engine stopped again. They handed us long poles with goldfish nets, so we dipped them into the current and physically struck the sea fireflies with the net's mesh. We could see a pale blue light in the net, but the mesh was too coarse to collect them when lifted. If you want to see them under a microscope, bring a plankton net. Overall, we enjoyed it, but this tour is probably heavily dependent on whether it has rained recently or if strong winds are blowing. We enjoyed it because it was a rain-free day, even during the rainy season after the New Year, but our impressions would likely change if it rained on the day of the tour. Malaysian weather forecasts aren't very reliable, so it's best to leave it to fate when booking. Also, the cleanest restrooms are at the boat boarding area.
My family and I had so much fun with Shan. He's attentive, engaging, and very knowledgeable with the area. Due to the heavy rain, we were not able to see the monkeys (which was disappointing but not the guide's fault). Somehow I thought we would have close contact with the fireflies, as in fireflies on hand, but we just drove by them slowly on the boat (which was fine with me since I didn't want to bother them in their natural habitat and stress them out!) The blue tears was magical for me but if you're expecting to see all blue like the pictures, please bring better cameras. The luminescent light can only be captured with cameras that have higher ISO. I simply took a mental image of the experience ❤️ Thank you, Shan! you made our experience fruitful with knowledge and fun.
It was a fun and well-planned tour where we got to catch beautiful sunsets, have a good dinner with Chinese cuisine, and enjoy a nighttime boat ride to see the fireflies and blue tears. Highly recommended.
We highly recommend this trip! We booked a private tour and it was definitely worth it. Our guide Faris (who we recommend you request if possible as he was fantastic) was very knowledgeable and couldn’t have been more attentive. We really enjoyed all the different activities. Just make sure you take some change if you want to feed the monkeys (10 ringgit per bag), which I suggest you do!
The experience was really great! Additional adventure with the rain pouring throughout the experience especially when we visited the Monkey & Lighthouse. We're lucky even if it rains, we are still able to proceed with the experience. We would love to come again next round but would love to explore more like the Sky Mirror.
