Excursão à Mina de Sal Slanic Prahova em Bucareste

Reminder: There is no boating at this salt mine, so don't misunderstand it as I did. However, it's still an interesting half-day trip overall. We departed in the morning (there are several designated pick-up points, choose one). The guide was humorous and quick-witted, introducing us to everything from Bucharest city center all the way to the Slanic salt mine entrance. There was one rest stop along the way. After the guide led us through ticket check, his job was done; he didn't go inside, so we took the shuttle bus down into the salt mine ourselves for the tour. It's very spectacular inside! There are seats, a cafe, and some small entertainment facilities. The restrooms are very clean, thumbs up! We spent about an hour exploring and then came out. Since it wasn't time for the tour bus to depart yet, we walked about 10 minutes to a small salt mine museum near the entrance of the salt mine. It's small but still worth a visit. Finally, we returned to the city center around 3 PM. There was plenty of time and energy.

Upon entering the salt mine, I was incredibly impressed and found it hard to imagine such a vast space being carved out 200 meters underground. The interior space is 60 meters high, and it takes over an hour to explore it thoroughly. There are also other recreational facilities within the salt mine, but they weren't particularly appealing. The guide mentioned that salt mining operations are still ongoing in other parts of the mine. Being inside the salt mine felt like a completely different world, making it a truly unforgettable experience.

The tour guide was on time and gave us clear instructions. The trip went well and we really enjoyed our trip.

The salt mine offered a fantastic view; it is the largest in Europe. It was a beautiful trip, organized by a great tour conductor. However, the seats were rather small for a two-hour one-way journey.

The transfer was in a small van. We were picked up last, so we were seated separately despite clarifying that we needed to sit together due to a language barrier. The seat in the back was very small; adults cannot sit comfortably there.

Incredible place - a must-visit in Romania. The transfer was on time, and the guide was a sweet lady. Everything went well.

A pretty good attraction. You need to take a shuttle bus to get into the underground salt mine. It's very large inside and offers a very special and interesting experience.
