Experiência de Bicicleta Ferroviária de Gangchon (Percurso da Estação Gyeonggang)

The railpark looks simple and the bike looks old. But the experience definitely worths it. If you are staying in Seoul, the railpark is not near the Seoul city at all. You need to plan ahead for the travel. Especially if you want to take advantage of the intercity ITX trains. Make sure you reserve those ITX train tickets ahead of time, probably should do it at the same time when you reserve the railpark tickets. I made the mistakes of not reserving the ITX train tickets first, and cannot get those tickets on the day before.

It's a good choice for group activities, but it's actually quite tiring 🤣. The four of us girls cycled until we were exhausted 🥲.

Great concept, but I would only recommend doing this during peak spring or fall. During my visit, the trees and grass were all brown, so there wasn't much to see. However, the mountain views were great. The tunnels were a fun addition, but could use some work, specifically the tunnel with the bubbles. They take your photo towards the end of the ride, and it's optional to get it printed (not included in the price; you still have to pay for the print). There's also a very slow train ride at the end which takes you to free buses that transport you back to the facility's entrance. I would skip this if you're only visiting for a few days since it's very far from Seoul, about a 2-hour train ride with transfers.

It was a fun experience, but getting there can be quite tricky. We ended up going to the wrong station, so we didn't get to use the ticket we booked here and had to purchase another ticket on site. It's the same facility, though, just the other end of the trail, so I wonder why we weren't allowed to use our Klook booking. My bad for not asking, but it was a long trip, and I no longer wanted to argue.

I bought a manual, so I get good exercise and it's really fun.

On the way, I met other tourists and found out that some rail bike stations offer automated bikes, allowing you to choose between electric or pedal-powered. However, Gyeonggang Station only provides pedal-powered bikes. Unless you are very confident in your physical fitness, I do not recommend starting your journey from this station. After completing the ride, my legs felt like they didn't belong to me. I also suggest that Klook provide more detailed information for all rail bike options, specifying whether they are electric or entirely pedal-powered. Thank you.

We really enjoyed this. We loved the rides with awesome views along the journey. We just couldn't find the free bus, but luckily there was a Jade Garden Tour bus at the train station and we managed to get there.
