The Tianan Cave is far from Chongqing city center, so if you are 1-2 people, it is more convenient and better to buy tickets on Trip.com and hire a driver separately. It is about 1 hour and 30 minutes away from Zazhou Station, deep in the mountains. I don't know how the driver managed it, but he contacted me via WeChat the day before, and even though I couldn't speak Chinese or English, we communicated with body language, took photos, and enjoyed the cave hotpot. The Via Ferrata is harder than expected, but it's great for taking photos of each other and having fun. At the end of the Via Ferrata, there's also a cave lake. And I received photos and videos via WeChat, which allowed me to get some amazing shots. Therefore, WeChat is essential.
Everything was perfect! The driver was very kind, he contacted us the day before and picked us up at the hotel at 8:00 AM. The journey is long but he played music for us and allowed us to make a stop to take photos. The experience with the Buddha was quick but incredible. The photographer tells you how to pose and the entire photography process is fast; we received the photos the same day in the afternoon. We didn't try the hotpot because it was 11 AM when we finished the photos and we had had a late breakfast, but the place where you eat is beautiful! The driver waited for us in the same place where he dropped us off, and took us back to the hotel. The experience is short but incredible, totally worth it!
