I absolutely loved this class! It’s perfect even if you’ve never played any musical instrument before. The teacher Jang is very kind, always smiling, and explains everything clearly so that anyone can follow easily. Even though it was a group lesson, she still gave individual attention to each participant. Before the class started, we changed into hanboks, which made the whole experience even more special. It really helped us get immersed in the atmosphere of Korea and the traditional instrument. The lesson was such a beautiful mix of relaxation and inspiration — I felt like both a musician and a graceful lady from an ancient dynasty 😊😊😊 After the class, the teacher took gorgeous photos of each participant and even printed them out for us. I was absolutely delighted!👍🏻 The studio is located right in the heart of Seoul, near Gyeongbokgung Palace, so the view from the classroom was also stunning.

This Hanbok & Gayageum 1-Day Experience was a memorable and enjoyable cultural activity. Wearing the hanbok at the beginning created an immersive atmosphere, and the instructors were friendly, patient, and clearly passionate about sharing Korean culture. Learning to play Arirang on the Gayageum was surprisingly accessible, even for complete beginners, and the lesson felt meaningful and very fun. The overall experience felt complete and well organized. The pacing was comfortable, and the multilingual support made everything easy to follow. There was plenty of time to practice and take photos. We were even given a certificate. This activity is a great choice for families, couples, or solo participants seeking an authentic cultural experience. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to go beyond typical sightseeing and truly experience Korean heritage.

정말 멋진 경험이었어요! 가야금 기초를 배우는 동안 선생님께서 매우 인내심을 가지고 격려해 주셨습니다. 악기의 역사와 가야 왕국에 대해 배우는 것도 정말 즐거웠습니다. 한복도 정말 아름다웠고, 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다! 한국어를 배우고 있는데, 선생님께서 저와 함께 연습해 주셨고, 제 언어적 한계에도 불구하고 매우 인내심을 가지고 필요할 때마다 영어로 번역해 주셨습니다. 전반적으로 정말 좋았고 강력히 추천합니다!

This was such a fun experience. My teacher was so friendly and I really enjoyed her Gayageum performance to showcase the sound. The studio itself is beautiful and cosy. We started class with some special Flower Tea, then choose a Hanbok to wear for the class. There was a brief powerpoint about the history and musical techniques we could try. If you can't read music it's okay, because the strings of the Gayageum are multi-coloured so you can play each string by colour code. We got to practice bar by bar. I enjoyed this activity a lot, and you even get lots of digital photo's and a souvenir certificate. You should book this :)

It was a very nice activity. It doesn’t matter if you know or don’t know anything about the instrument Yoomin will help you. She is very experienced. Also you can dress up in a Hanbok

저는 이 전통 가야금 수업에서 정말 아름다운 경험을 했습니다. 도착하는 순간부터 분위기는 평화롭고 환영하는 느낌이었습니다. 선생님은 정말 친절하고 세심하셨고, 모든 것을 영어로 설명해주셨으며, 우리 각자를 인내심 있게 지도해주셨고, 초보자들을 위한 안전한 공간을 만들어주셨습니다. 심지어 차까지 준비해주셔서 수업 전체가 더욱 개인적이고 진심 어린 느낌이 들었습니다. 수업 중에 한복을 입으니 경험이 더욱 특별해졌고, 마치 다른 시대로 들어선 것 같았습니다. 스튜디오는 유서 깊은 건물과 작은 장인 상점들이 있는 매력적인 전통 지역에 위치해 있어 수업 분위기를 한층 더 좋게 만들었습니다. 진정성 있고 온화한 환경에서 가야금을 배우고 싶다면 이 수업을 강력히 추천합니다. 떠난 후에도 오랫동안 기억에 남을 의미 있는 문화 체험입니다.

I had a wonderful time today with Teacher. ❤️ She was patient and witty, and made me feel at ease right away! I have never worn a hanbok before and hers are all high quality and so beautiful! The lesson was easy to follow so much fun, thank you for answering my questions patiently. A unique experience I will always remember. Thank you! ☺️

I had so much fun today with Yumin-nim during my class! The studio and hanbok are beautiful and you get to learn about the history of gayageum from a true expert. It’s such a unique experience and you get such great pictures and videos taken by Yumin for the memories - I’d highly recommend to anyone for a special experience when you’re in Seoul! It was a perfect addition to my solo trip :)

I absolutely loved this class! If you've ever heard Korean traditional music and felt mesmerized by its sound, this is something you should definitely try. Experiencing it firsthand was truly special. One of the things I appreciated most was the hanboks. They weren’t the “fantasy” ones you usually rent at palace gates, but the styles Koreans actually wear, which made everything feel much more authentic. I went in a little nervous, but the class was very beginner-friendly and the teacher always checked on us. The moment you walk in and see the beautiful hanok view, you immediately feel excited, as it creates the perfect atmosphere for learning traditional music. I also loved that we got to try other songs, including pieces from K-pop like Demon Hunters and BTS. To top it all off, you receive a certificate and a photo from the mini photoshoot. I truly recommend this class to anyone curious about Korean culture. It’s unforgettable!
