We met at the Gelato shop for the day trip, and the tour guide was punctual. We were the last to board the bus, and once inside, the atmosphere felt strange. Everyone on the bus seemed quiet and subdued. About 80% of the group spoke Cantonese, but the guide primarily spoke Mandarin (with a little Cantonese and English). I overheard some other group members expressing dissatisfaction with the guide, but she didn't seem to pay much attention. Later, I found out that the other group members were on a multi-day tour, so I don't know what happened between them and the guide in the previous days. I was only on a one-day tour. The itinerary included: (1) The Jetty Train, a small train located by the coast with a beach nearby for swimming, picnicking, and walking. The guide bought the tickets, and after receiving them, we boarded at the designated time. The ticket included both outbound and return journeys. Alternatively, you could choose to walk along the track for free. You could ride both segments or just one. The scenery along the way, with the endless ocean, was beautiful. However, the train seats were very narrow, with six people squeezed into each carriage, sitting uncomfortably close to strangers. It might be better to go during cooler weather. (2) DiLatte Winery + (3) Cheeky Monkey Brewpub for lunch. The guide first asked if anyone didn't want to taste wine. The winery included paid wine tasting (arranged by the guide). If you bought wine after tasting, each person received a AUD 5 discount per bottle. I tasted several wines, all of which were delicious, and bought a few bottles. I received an electronic receipt via email. Next to the winery was the lunch spot. The burgers and fries were very tasty, and the portions were large. If you couldn't finish, you could ask the staff for a box to pack it up. (4) Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, located by the sea. The path was flat and easy to walk, perfect for photos. Afterwards, we returned. In Western Australia, one or two-day tours are usually handled by a single guide, who also has to drive. It seemed quite tough for the guide to drive, navigate, explain attractions, and communicate with the group. This itinerary was well-arranged, with sufficient time and no rush. We returned to Northbridge and departed around 7:45 PM. Dinner was not included and was self-arranged. Overall, there were no major issues, but I had a mediocre impression of the guide. She didn't do anything specific, but I just felt a lack of respect and welcome, perhaps due to her tone? I'm not sure. A one-day tour should be enjoyable, but this experience fell short of my expectations.
