It was a nice experience! The snow park is for kids but we enjoyed the sledding. The sledding is slightly less steeper than other winter festivals but it’s longer. There is also a fun one where the slide has more curves. What we enjoyed the most was the Gondola part. It’s a 15-20 min ride where you can see the beauty of the slopes and how good the professional snowboards and skieers are! The whole landscape is majestic! At the top, there’s a simple cafe where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or better a ramyun. It’s so cold at the top that our hands got red for five minutes of picture taking, so this rest area below the Gondola station is our life saver. It was -12 to -15 when we got there and the gust of wind was harsh! You can really see the snow being carried intensely; it would be best to wear eye protector. One can just simply enjoy the view of Daedunsan covered in snow on a cool, winter day. At the reception area, there’s a food hall where they serve large portions of fish cake, jjangmyeon, and pizza, and a Lotteria in the second floor. This comes with complementary drink (coffee or soda) in the self-service area. The place was clean and spacious and you can just easily pass time there while watching people skii on its wide, clear glass.
Guide: The guide is fluent in Korean, English, and Chinese, has excellent local tourism knowledge, and is very patient in serving group members. Ski equipment: I brought my own equipment (knee pads, hip pads, helmet) and only rented ski clothing. The ski clothing I received wasn't particularly new, but it was usable. The ski boots and skis at the ski resort were a bit old, but you can still ski if you're skilled. Experience: There were no issues with the itinerary; it was similar to other ski tours. Phoenix Park Ski Resort is genuinely large, and I skied until I was exhausted. The lockers are super expensive, costing 4,000 Korean Won each time. I visited other ski resorts a few days ago and experienced artificial snow; the snow here is drier, and underneath, it's hard ice when you brush it aside. Safety: You should still bring protective gear; falling on hard ice really hurts. Scenery: The ski resort is vast, and taking the cable car up is truly breathtaking. The magnificent view cannot be captured by a phone.
We arrived during the low season, so it wasn't crowded. We had a lot of fun skiing. It was a truly great trip arranged by Lisa. She is very well organized and friendly. She kept us entertained with many facts and stories about the places we visited. I strongly recommend her services!
It was a great and genuine experience, most especially it was my first snow experience, Fantastic! experience:
We had a great trip to Phoenix Pyeongchang Snow Park. The journey was punctual and the ride was smooth, although traffic made the return slightly longer. Everything was still well organized. Our guide, David, was friendly and communicated clearly in both English and Chinese, which made the experience easy and comfortable. The basic snowboarding lesson was good and helpful for beginners. If time allows, I would recommend the full 2-hour lesson for better improvement and confidence. The resort is big and well-equipped. Since we went near the end of the season, the snow wasn’t very powdery, but it was not crowded, which was nice. We also took the gondola to the top of the mountain. The ride was scenic, but there wasn’t much at the summit. If you take the advanced slope, you will reach the same top by ski lift, so the gondola isn’t necessary unless you want the view. Overall, it was a pleasant and enjoyable trip.
Great experience! Skiing in Korea was on my bucket list and it didn’t disappoint. Getting the opportunity to do this at the 2018 Olympic Games was fantastic especially for the price. David the guide was very nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend and book again
I had fun and was lucky to have this trip with Mr. Uesu (if I'm not mistaken with the spelling). Even though I think it was my mistake for not clearly stating my language, we had a language barrier as the company thought I could speak Mandarin, which I cannot. However, the tour guide was really helpful in taking care of me and making sure everything was prepared for me! Thank you for the pickup from the hotel; the sudden rally made it difficult for me to find public transport early in the morning. The car was comfortable and clean too.
I had an incredible experience with Sander Kim as our ski resort guide. He went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible time, offering insightful recommendations, personalized service, and a level of kindness and genuineness that truly stood out. The private charter was incredibly convenient, and Sander made sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. I can't recommend him enough—his dedication to providing an exceptional experience is unmatched. A top-notch guide and an all-around wonderful person!
Overall, it was very good. The tour guide was very attentive. The rental equipment at the ski resort was a bit old, but there were many slopes to choose from, allowing for extensive exploration.
