Our teacher was amazing and very sweet. It was so cool learning how to make the dishes I love so much. Learned a lot from this class and made such delicious food that all other dishes I’ve had before and will have in the future cannot compare.
I participated with my 12-year-old son. Juney explained everything thoroughly and had a kind attitude. All four dishes we made were successful, making it a wonderful experience. I joined the experience with my 12-year-old son. Juney is very serious and kind. Every dish is so tasty. It's a successful experience. I'll recommend it to everyone.
Best of the best! June is very friendly and kind, not only with her cooking, but she also told us a lot about the background and even the history of the food! The market visit made this trip different, allowing us to meet locals and get to know the culture! The class was also so well prepared!
I absolutely loved the Thai cooking class experience, highly recommend it to friends who don't want to stick to typical tourist routes and prefer to experience local life. I was the only one in the morning class, so it was a completely one-on-one lesson – what a steal! Before the class started, we took a tuk-tuk to a traditional market. June introduced some traditional Thai snacks and explained what kind of things you can buy there. This is a truly traditional market, the kind where you barely see any tourists. When we got to the fish stall, June mentioned that you can buy fish here to release them. Buying eels to release is for wealth, turtles for longevity, and doctor fish for health. Since there's a river nearby, you can also Line the fishmonger to release them remotely. While I don't fully agree with the practice, it was quite interesting. The Thai cooking class made a total of four dishes: Tom Yum Goong, Pad Thai, Chicken Curry, and Mango Sticky Rice. June explained the ingredients while sharing some historical tidbits. The cooking process was very chill, and every dish was incredibly delicious! It really shows that with the right ingredients, Thai food can be very authentic. The most special part was probably grinding the curry paste from scratch, starting with the spices (they sell pre-made ones at the market, but freshly ground ones are definitely more fragrant!). Each dish was perfectly portioned for one person. After cooking, we ate them hot right away. Leaving with a full stomach was fantastic!
Our family of 4 attended the English cooking class taught by Jan. She has a bachelor's and master's degree in English, so it was easy to understand her English. We started with a Tuk-tuk ride to the market, and she showed and explained the history of that specific market and individual stalls. The food we made included Tom Yum soup, Pad Thai, Massaman curry, and mango sticky rice. It was definitely an eye-opening and fun experience for the person in our group who never wanted to join a cooking class. Would definitely recommend it.
I took Chinese courses to challenge myself as an Indonesian. I was the only one in the morning class, but it's still happening! June is a cheerful and kind teacher, I love it! She speaks Chinese really well too. I hope that if Chinese people come to Bali, they can experience Thai cuisine here. Highly recommended!
It was a special day for me. Thanks to Ms. June's extensive knowledge, kindness, and attentiveness, I had a very pleasant time. The fact that it's close to the nearest station and I could easily find the classroom is also a plus. This might be the only cooking class where you can take a tuk-tuk to the market! At the market, she explained vegetables, seafood, and fruits in detail. After spending about 30 minutes at the market, we returned to the classroom and started cooking. After making each dish, we ate it in a cool room, and then made the next dish. The classroom was very clean. All four dishes were delicious and I was very satisfied. Thank you so much, Ms. June!
Thank you for a lovely experience! Our teacher was lovely, very patient and entertaining. We enjoyed the tuk tuk ride to the market, had some snacks, and went back for the class. We made 4 different dishes, and they were all delicious. Highly recommend this experience.
The morning Chinese class was full, so we signed up for the afternoon English class. Unexpectedly, there were very few students, making it feel like a one-on-one private lesson – what a pleasant surprise! Teacher June's explanations were incredibly detailed. While teaching cooking skills, she also shared fascinating insights into the country's history and culture. It was truly engaging. At 2:00 PM, Teacher June took us on a tuk-tuk ride to a very large local market. The market was filled with all sorts of interesting ingredients. We even got to sample some special Thai mini-desserts for free and watched how coconut milk is processed. After returning to the classroom, we began the hands-on cooking session. Teacher June explained every step very clearly, making it easy to follow along, and even the children thoroughly enjoyed participating. The dishes we made ourselves with fresh, authentic ingredients tasted absolutely wonderful! By the end of the class, our stomachs were full and satisfied. The children especially loved the mango sticky rice, which was both beautiful and delicious. The school thoughtfully provided special lower stovetops for the children, which was very considerate. I wholeheartedly recommend everyone to come and experience this!
Super worth it cooking class with full experience of Tuk tuk ride to the local market, trying local pandan coconut dessert, cooking & eating experience! Very simple to cook but delicious Thai food that you can recreate at home. Lalit is very friendly and clear in her explanation. I was not expecting the dishes to be so tasty. It was also nice to cook each dish and eat before moving to the next one so you are always eating it piping hot! Thank you Lalit & Arun Thai cooking team.
