Beautiful and breathtaking architecture, chandeliers and opulence. Rich in culture, heritage and history. Well worth the visit.

The driver and staff were very kind and explained everything thoroughly. We sat on the upper deck and toured Abu Dhabi's famous sights with an audio guide. The bus announcements are not available in Japanese. We were advised to buy clothes to enter the mosque, but please be careful as they might recommend expensive items. You can buy them for around 45 AED.

The bus came once every hour during our visit which can mean a fair bit of waiting unless you time your stops and visits well. If you have a strict timetable, you could find yourself hailing taxis to get to another waiting point! The ground staff were helpful and friendly and explained that in a few weeks, when high season kicks in there will be more frequent buses. It was lovely to see the city at sunset from the top of the bus, especially going out to the Louvre section of the city.

We (a family of 4) bought the 5-day deluxe tour tickets although we were only there for 3 days, which allowed us to enjoy the free cruise ride at Yas Marina, available every Tuesday, and a night city tour in the evening. The Big Bus tour took us to the major attractions, and we covered the ones that were "must-do" on our list, such as Ferrari World within Yas Mall, the Grand Mosque (we managed to see the mosque in daylight and at night), the Heritage Village, the Presidential Palace, and the Louvre. All the attractions were spectacular. The staff were very helpful and provided us with the bus time schedule. The Big Bus signages were clearly displayed at pick-up locations, making them easy to find. Overall, it was great value for money as we managed to get a 1-for-1 deal, which otherwise would have been less economical.

We always take the hop-on hop-off bus whenever we visit a new country. In Abu Dhabi, the price, in my opinion, is high. Essentially, the city is still under construction, so perhaps in 10 years, there will be more to see. But in any case, it's better to take the bus; it's very convenient. Please note that the ticket only includes the red line.
