We selected the 6:30 PM slot. We arrived around 5:30 PM, and since it was still early, we ordered some drinks at Starbucks, which is next to Wildfire Pizzabar. Around 6:15 PM, we saw a huge crowd (a tourist group) already waiting in line, but we didn't join them and just followed the instructions sent via email. Our tour guide was already waiting, so we joined the line. We were a small group on the Dukling, roughly less than 15 tourists. We were offered a choice of water or soft drinks. The view was magnificent. It's better to bring a jacket as it is extremely cold and windy. My only suggestion is that they should have an official photographer for the Dukling while sailing the harbor, as sometimes high-end cellphone cameras don't quite do it justice.
When you arrive at the boarding dock and see busloads of tourists lined up to get on boats, you hold your breath hoping it's not the one you'll be on. To avoid the chaos and actually have an enjoyable harbor tour, there simply is no better option than the Dukling. An authentic fishing boat from 1955 that was once even sunken, resurfaced, and given a second life cannot be topped as your vessel of choice. The crew takes excellent care of everyone, and you even get a free drink included in the price. You also get taught the history of the boat and Hong Kong as you go around the harbor. It's an hour of relative tranquility in an otherwise chaotic city.
The cruise provided us with a wonderful experience. The views from both sides of Victoria Harbour were splendid. The boat itself was clean and not too large, so it wasn't overcrowded.
I was so happy and I am really glad I booked this cruise. This was one of the best experiences I have ever had. My husband and I had a truly enjoyable night. We managed to see and experienced how these boatmen live in this boat. We could also see the beautiful symphony of light through different perspectives. I truly recommend this activity to those who are searching for something unique to do in Hong Kong. I love Dukling!
Incredible experience and worth being able to see all of the harbor and being able to enjoy the music and the lights when the sun sets period
Very good. The atmosphere is nice and the breeze is very cool. The boat arrived exactly on time. I recommend waiting for it. The boat arrives at 5:30 PM sharp. There are drinks available on board.
This is a great way to see the Harbor. Lots of room on the boat and a beverage for your cruise. They give a short history of the Dukling Junk boats which is neat. I would recommend this to everyone.
The pier is a bit of a walk, so allow enough time to get there. We made a mistake by cutting it too close, but thankfully we made it. It was quite windy, so make sure to wear windproof clothing. Overall, it was a good experience.
