I really enjoyed the guided tour of Edinburgh Castle. Our guide was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining the history of the castle and the different events that took place there. The stories and historical details made the visit much more interesting. Definitely recommend taking the tour if it’s your first time visiting Edinburgh!

The arrangements were nearly perfect. Originally, we had difficulty getting entry tickets to Edinburgh Castle on their official website. While most travel agencies no longer had tickets for the day, we managed to get ours on Klook. The QR code was issued in less than a minute. The waiting place was convenient and the tour guide, Ignas, was easily identifiable. Yet, Ignas spoke with a very strong Scottish accent, which made it not always easy to follow. So, although he was very knowledgeable and helpful, the details of the description were not always fully understood. Nevertheless, the view at and from the castle was magnificent. Even though the path looked very steep and far from the city centre, it wasn’t difficult to get there. The rooms were definitely worth visiting. The souvenir shop also sold gifts that were exclusive to the castle. We also met the Queen and King James for a lovely photo. I would definitely recommend this visit.

Engaging guide who injected both history and humour in equal measure in her talk. The ticket is for single entry so it’s recommended that you stay on within the castle compounds after the tour to explore the 13 museums. Area is small so tour groups aren’t allowed unless it’s an open area.

It would be great if the organiser could attach a photo of the meet up point because it can be confusing to locate the tour given only the location opposite of St Giles Cathedral. I personally had to ask around multiple people who looked like guides and finally found mine. You'll then be joining the group for a brief walk up along the Royal Mile to the entrance of the castle. Good opportunity to brush up on the history but if that's not your interest, I suggest to just skip the guide and go on your own. Having said that, our guide Ross did a fantastic job with his enthusiastic sharing and light jokes. Fyi, your guide won't be joining you on your visits into each area/ exhibition in the castle so you'll be on your own but I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem. Depending on your tour schedule, you can also check out the 1 PM firing of canon if you happen to be there in that time of the day. One more tip from me is that the entrance to the castle is only few walks away from the Scotch Whisky Experience so I hope this helps with your travel planning.

It was an excellent tour experience. The guide was very knowledgeable and shared fascinating stories throughout. Even when it started raining, he continued without interruption and completed the entire explanation on time. After his briefing, we had plenty of time to explore the castle on our own. The castle itself was huge and beautiful — definitely a must-visit.

Our tour guide was Jen and she was knowledgeable and hilarious! Her storytelling is great, it was easy to follow and listen through. The overall experience took about 1.5 hours including the walk from St Giles Cathedral, entry was also simple and quick. Edinburgh is quite rainy in November so bring a small umbrella or wear a waterproof jacket. We had to walk up slopes, stairs and stand around so make sure you are able to stand and walk for about 1.5 hours. We were also free to explore the castle on our own after the tour. Would recommend if you love hearing about history and there are some things that you will not find out if you do a self-guided tour, the locals know best. Easy to redeem via Klook.

Unforgettable Visit to Edinburgh Castle with David! Our visit to Edinburgh Castle was absolutely amazing, thanks to our fantastic tour guide, David. He brought the history of the castle to life with his passion, knowledge, and a great sense of humor. Every story he told made us feel like we were stepping back in time. From the Crown Jewels to the breathtaking views, the whole experience was unforgettable. If you’re planning to visit, definitely try to get on a tour with David—you won’t regret it!

Richard is an excellent tour guide - witty, yet he allows guests to fully understand the history of Scotland and its thorny relationship with England. He is such an excellent storyteller. I would highly recommend this tour. If there is a way to choose a guide, then choose Richard. I will give this tour 5 stars.

Tour was simple and we got brought around to all the key locations in the castle so you can choose where you want to spend more time after that. I took the 11am slot and had quite some time after the tour ended to go to the museums and visit the other locations around. During the tour we covered the history of different parts of the castle and many key locations such as the St Margaret’s chapel, hospital square etc. While you’re already there, stay for the 1pm gun shot that’s a means of time telling in the past that Edinburgh still preserves till today. You’ll need to find a good spot early if you want a good video of the soldier doing the shot. Visit the prisoner of war museum as well, you’ll get to see the recreated living conditions of the prisoners and their past time while they’re there (eg carving into mutton bones to make stencils to then make fake notes)

Easy to redeem the tickets and our tour guide Joe was funny and witty. Knows his stuff well and cracked us up with his Scottish humour. Also enjoyed how Joe would explain to us the history, providing us context to appreciate the castle more
