The rooms at Novotel were spacious, modern, and comfortable. However, one issue significantly affected our stay—the hotel corridors had a persistent unpleasant smell, which seemed to come from the carpets. The odour was so strong at times that it made us feel nauseous. We hope the hotel addresses this, as the rooms themselves were otherwise very good. The hotel’s connectivity to Edinburgh city centre was excellent. The nearest ScotRail station was only a five-minute walk away, and trains reached Edinburgh Waverley in around 10 minutes. We strongly recommend using the train instead of a taxi. Although the hotel is located some distance from the city centre, travelling by road can take around 40 minutes, while the train is much quicker. Train tickets are easy to purchase through the ScotRail app, and the smooth, level walk between the station and the hotel makes it convenient even with heavy luggage. Tram and bus services were also available, providing easy access to Princes Street and other parts of the city. For convenience, Aldi and Tesco supermarkets were within a 5–7 minute walk, while KFC and Krispy Kreme were just a couple of minutes away. The hotel breakfast was good but quite expensive. Budget-conscious travellers may prefer to buy breakfast items from Tesco or Pret A Manger and store them in the in-room fridge. If breakfast cost is not a concern, the hotel’s buffet is a perfectly enjoyable option.

Pretty basic, nothing to it. Bathroom is not the best, very basic and no proper place for towel drying or even to hold towels. Hotel is decent but nothing outstanding to comeback again!

World cup games stream didn't work. Not the cleanest.

I stayed there 11 days with my wife ,The property was very clean ,we came early for check and they let us check in ,I like that it has indoor pool ,sauna ,steam room ,close to the tram ,aldis,TJMAX,22 min to the airport, breakfast was really good ….it has a microwave on the first floor ,safe and little refrigerator in the room ….and very quiet … so I will come back to this hotel again for sure
