Dingen om te doen in Masjid Bandaraya

The half-day itinerary was packed, and our guide, Daniel, was absolutely fantastic! He spoke Malay, English, and Chinese... I bet he could handle Cantonese and Hokkien too! He was incredibly patient and meticulous with his explanations and arrangements throughout the trip. Even the two little ones in our group loved chatting with him. We found the proboscis monkeys, saw the sunset, but the grand finale was truly the highlight: a sky full of stars and trees full of fireflies. One star twinkled in the sky, and a firefly rested in my hand – it was the most beautiful and serene experience imaginable (the camera couldn't capture even a fraction of it). Thank you, Daniel, and thank you, Kawa, for a wonderful journey and a delightful encounter.

Directe bevestiging van de massageboeking. Gunstig gelegen in het centrum van KK, dus ik kon nog een laatste ontspannende massage krijgen voordat ik mijn vlucht nam.

Goede ervaring in Tiya. Gelegen op de 1e verdieping van KK Times Square. Welkom geheten door een vriendelijke receptioniste. Mijn man en ik werden geholpen door twee masseurs, nr. 20 en 39. Beiden ervaren.

De vrouwelijke masseuse die mij op 10-05-2026 om 18:00 uur een 2 uur durende hot stone massage heeft gegeven, levert echt uitstekende service. Na de massage voelde ik me erg comfortabel. Zeer aanbevolen.

Manukan Island was niet slecht, maar ik raad Mamutik Island echt aan. Ik heb twee tours gedaan en ben naar Gaya, Sapi, Mamutik en Manukan Island geweest. Mamutik Island was de beste van de vier eilanden. Het was niet alleen omdat het weer die dag goed was, maar de koralen op dat eiland waren zo goed gevormd dat ik meer vissen zag dan op de andere drie eilanden samen. Het zou beter zijn geweest als het water op de dag dat ik ging iets helderder was geweest, maar desondanks was het echt prachtig en geweldig. De gids was ook vriendelijk en erg goed. Ik raad het ten zeerste aan.

Ik wist niet waar de rode telefooncel was, het ontmoetingspunt, dus bezocht ik de informatiebalie van Jesselton Ferry Port. Hoewel de ontmoetingstijd al voorbij was, belde de medewerker van de informatiebalie het reisbureau en kon ik de gids ontmoeten. Er waren nog drie andere groepen die verdwaald waren, en we gingen samen naar het eiland. Het was mijn eerste keer snorkelen, maar ik kon gemakkelijk zwemmen omdat ze me een reddingsvest en vinnen leenden. Tijdens het zwemmen maakte de gids foto's en video's met een GoPro! Ik ben erg blij met de video die hij maakte met het huis van de anemoonvis! De gemaakte foto's worden na de tour via WhatsApp verzonden. Zwemmen is behoorlijk vermoeiend, dus het was fijn dat er daarna ongeveer twee uur ontspanningstijd was. De boot maakt je behoorlijk zeeziek, dus ik had achteraf gezien beter iets tegen zeeziekte kunnen innemen.

Highly recommended! Jackson, the captain, and the other staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. We got to try paddleboarding, snorkeling, and fishing 🎣🐟. They took us to different fishing spots where we caught a lot of fish! They also created a fantastic atmosphere 💕. Dinner was delicious and the portions were very generous 👍🏻👍🏻.

In a group of about 20-30 people, only two of us were Japanese. Most of the participants were Chinese, and the tour was primarily conducted in Chinese. However, our guide made sure to explain things to us in English whenever necessary and constantly looked out for us. The high-speed cruise ship took a little over an hour to reach the island. It was incredibly fast and quite bumpy! 😂 But because the ship was so fast, we didn't even have time to get seasick, which was a plus, haha. The guides played music on board, making the travel time enjoyable. The island facilities were new and clean. Toilets, shower rooms, and even hair dryers were available, ensuring a comfortable stay. Before snorkeling, there was a safety briefing. For the two of us, a staff member provided a one-on-one explanation, showing us translated safety precautions in Japanese. They also checked repeatedly to ensure we understood everything, and we felt that safety was very well-considered. For snorkeling, the boat took us to two different spots. The ocean was truly beautiful and amazing! 🐠 The guides constantly checked on us, ensuring our safety while also making sure we had a great time. After returning to the island, a luxurious meal of crab, shrimp, and other dishes was prepared, and drinks were available freely 🦀🦐. Afterward, we had free time. We relaxed under a parasol on the beach. When it was time, we boarded the super-fast cruise ship again for the return journey. Since it was an early morning tour, we were quite tired by the time we headed back, but it was a fulfilling day nonetheless. My only regret is that I forgot to give a tip to our kind guide when we left. They were so helpful until the very end. Since about 90% of the participants are Chinese, Japanese participants might feel a little uneasy at first if they join alone. However, there were many guides and staff members who paid very close attention to us Japanese participants, so in the end, we had a wonderful time without any worries. The ocean was beautiful, snorkeling was fun, and the food was luxurious. Above all, the warm support from all the staff left a lasting impression. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who might be hesitant because of the small number of Japanese participants! 🌴🐠✨
