Miyazaki Tours

Today's itinerary was packed, and it felt wonderful. First, there was the mini-train, which the kids are sure to love; the driver even blows bubbles at the end! Then, the canyon was beautiful and very photogenic; I really enjoyed the scenery as we strolled along. My personal favorite was the Kumano Shrine; it had a very, very serene atmosphere, with ancient moss-covered lanterns and towering old trees looking down on everything. It started raining at our last stop, so we ate Kuroge Wagyu barbecue on the second floor of Kusasenri, looking out at the lush green landscape. All my senses were delighted. Many thanks to our guide today, Mr. Miyamoto, who was very attentive and thoughtful. Not only did he give us a perfect day, but he also gave us posters on the way back, and I got my favorite, "Spirited Away"! I'm so happy.

This was the highlight of my Kyushu trip! Takachiho Gorge was absolutely stunning, and the boat ride offered incredible views of the waterfalls and cliffs. The Takachiho Railway experience was unique and provided amazing mountain scenery. Amano-Iwato Shrine was peaceful and rich in Japanese culture and history. The guide was professional and organized, making the long journey smooth and enjoyable. Definitely worth the trip from Fukuoka and a must-do for nature lovers.

Het voelde surrealistisch om de watervallen te zien. Ik wou dat ik een van de boottochten had gedaan. Maar over het algemeen was de hele reis geweldig! We kregen genoeg tijd om foto's te maken en terug te reizen naar onze bus. Ik wou dat we meer tijd hadden gehad in de Takachiho-kloof, of de optie hadden gehad om de boottocht te maken. Hoe dan ook, ik heb een geweldige tijd gehad.

Deze tour was echt geweldig als je van dieren houdt en ze van dichtbij wilt zien. Ik heb genoten van de gids Zhu Zhu, ze was zo lief en hoewel ze weinig Engels sprak, was ze zo geweldig en zorgde ze ervoor dat ik de rest van de groep kon volgen. Ze was zo charmant en vriendelijk, hielp me met het bestellen van al het eten bij alle kraampjes en winkels en bood me haar paraplu en zelfs de zoete appels aan. Ik raad deze route ten zeerste aan, je ziet veel op één dag!

Even though it was raining, the overall itinerary was very well managed. We had a mini-bus with two guides: Zhu Zhu, who handled Chinese and Korean, and another male guide who provided explanations and commentary in fluent English. This was my first time on a one-day tour, and I was surprised that the guides even walked with us. Zhu Zhu is an excellent guide; she provided detailed information about restrooms and lunch options and consistently ensured the group stayed together and that everyone was accounted for. The entire trip was very enriching. Although the schedule was a bit tight, there was still enough time even for those who love taking photos. We even received small gifts at the end! Since I was staying in Takachiho, I opted out of the return trip, and Zhu Zhu was very enthusiastic in discussing my drop-off location. I'm so glad I joined this one-day tour, and I highly recommend it!

I didn't get to visit Takachiho Gorge during my trip to Miyazaki, so I made sure to go this time while in Fukuoka. There was no company name provided, so I met up with the group after receiving a call at the meeting point, haha (it's Gogo Day Travel). People from four countries (English, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese speakers) can go together, and since the travel time is long, I recommend using this tour the day after you've had a busy day exploring Fukuoka, haha. We had a great time seeing the sights and playing around with our guide, Mr. Kang, who is fluent in Korean.

We hebben genoten van het bezoek aan zoveel plekken! De chauffeur was erg punctueel en beleefd. Hoewel we niet dezelfde taal spraken, konden we toch communiceren met Google Translate. Het was fijn om een privéauto te hebben en niet met een grote groep te hoeven gaan.

We namen deel aan de dagtour door de Miyazaki Takachiho-kloof vanuit Fukuoka, en onze gids, Summer, maakte het echt onvergetelijk. Ze was hartelijk, deskundig en zorgde ervoor dat alles soepel verliep. Summer deelde fascinerende verhalen over de legendes van de kloof en de lokale cultuur, plus geweldige tips over waar je de beste foto's kon maken. De kloof zelf is adembenemend – het smaragdgroene water, de watervallen. Summer regelde de timing perfect, zodat we ons nooit gehaast voelden.
