Wander Without Waste (1)
Klook and Get Plastic Indonesia are campaigning together to make eco-tourism the new norm – made possible through close collaboration with our merchant partners. Through Wander Without Waste, participating merchants contribute to plastic-recovery efforts with every eligible booking. Together, we have co-created the tools, platform features, and operational framework that helps to reduce and upcycle plastic waste.

Why We’re Partnering: Travel with Purpose

At Klook, we've always seen travel as a gateway to connection — to cultures, communities, and now, to climate action. With millions of travelers using our platform each year, we know we have a unique opportunity to lead the shift toward more conscious travel. This partnership with Get Plastic is more than reducing waste — it’s about redefining how we travel. Indonesia’s natural beauty is under pressure from plastic pollution, and together, we’re collectively taking a step toward more responsible travel.

How It Works

Making a positive impact is as simple as booking an activity. Here is how Wander Without Waste comes to life:
Klook and our participating merchants co-designed an eco-tourism operations framework that reduces single-use plastic on the ground. This includes:
  • Bamboo tissues (instead of plastic-wrapped options)
  • Glass-bottled mineral water (replacing plastic bottles)
  • Reusable shopping bags
Aligned with our shared commitment to sustainability, participating merchants take the lead in driving impact — turning every traveler experience into meaningful environmental action. For every eligible booking made through Klook, these merchants contribute IDR15,000 per customer directly to Get Plastic Indonesia, supporting plastic recovery, recycling, and repurposing initiatives across the island.
We’re making it seamless for travelers to support plastic recovery efforts with every booking made on Klook in select Bali destinations — including Nusa Penida, Mount Batur, and Ubud.

Experiences Offered

Turning Plastic Into Purpose

  1. Low-value plastic waste is collected and processed into fuel oil.
  2. That fuel is then used to power farming equipment in rural communities.
  3. By-products are transformed into planting media and sustainable merchandise — completing a circular, zero-waste solution.
Eco-tourism AID

Where We're Heading Towards:

  • To support the upgrade of the machine at the Get Plastic Learning Center, enabling it to process up to 20kg of plastic into fuel oil – expanding impact through this eco-tourism initiative.
  • Prevent more single-use and low-value plastics from ending up in Bali’s landfills and oceans.
