Quite good experience with Mapo

we stayed at the glad mapo for 14 days, and we could not fault it. bottled water was added to our fridge everyday, which was great because it was HOT spring weather! the ice machine downstairs was convenient for DIY iced coffee. the 7-11 in-house saved our hungry stomachs! if the standard pillow is too soft you can ask for a memory foam one. it saved my neck and was delivered in 10mins. everyone is so friendly and happy to help. the room was great with 2 single beds. plenty of space to fit all our luggage AND purchases. we were originally concerned about the room temperature but once we realised we could set the aircon, it was fine. i believe the heating is not used in spring, which was completely understandable as it was 27-29°C our entire stay. we will definitely be staying here again. it’s so close to several subway lines and plenty of great places to eat within short walking distance.

Good location, Clean room, friend and helpful staff

Everything was excellent

Top location, at the steps of exit of Gongdeok station with direct link to airport and easy access to key areas in Seoul. Rooms are comfortable. Bathroom has a great shower. All spotlessly clean. There also is a 7-11 on site open till 1AM! On the negative side: I had a stressful departure. Front desk called 5 minutes after check out time informing me that if I won't check out in 15 minutes I will be charged. Communication style needs serious improvement because it cancelled my otherwise positive impression of the hotel.

The GLAD Mapo Hotel does not have air conditioning, they only have central heat. We were informed of this upon checking in by the front deck staff. She said if the room gets hot we can open the windows. They later provided us with a fan to help move the air in our room. Daily high in Taipei when we were staying there was around 75 degrees F, the room already felt warm. At this day and age, no AC is unacceptable especially at the price of about $250 US per night I paid. It was not explicitly make known about no AC in this hotel when booking. Definitely will not stay there again.
