We are a group of five senior friends who traveled to Chengdu and Chongqing. Timing and Crowds • The Off-Peak Advantage: Visiting three weeks after the Chinese New Year was a brilliant move. The weather was pleasant, and the crowds were thin enough to enjoy the walk without feeling rushed or "squeezed" on the narrow staircases. • The "Before Noon" Rule: I highly suggest starting your climb before noon. The light is better for photos, and you beat the heavier midday heat and the tour groups that tend to arrive later. Important Tips for Travelers • Stamina Check: Make sure to do some cardio or leg workouts in the weeks leading up to your trip! The stairs are steep and numerous; you will definitely need some stamina to reach the top comfortably. • Budgeting for Extras: Keep in mind that viewing the 3,000+ Buddha statues in the surrounding Oriental Buddha Park requires a separate entry ticket. It’s worth it if you have the time, but factor that into your budget and schedule.

5 stars for the organization! The drivers and guides were incredibly punctual and thoughtful. Loved the balance of guided activity and free time. Even though the fog was thick and the monkeys were hiding, the team's energy kept the vibe high. Highly recommend.

experience: the shuttle bus is very shaky as the mountain road is far . so just take note if you want to take shuttle bus. from bottom to top take about 2 hours by bus.

I went with my 6-year-old and my 65-year-old mother, and honestly, the bus tour was quite manageable for everyone. In June, there are many steps to climb at Leshan Giant Buddha, but it's fine if you take your time. If you don't want to climb, you can tell the tour guide and wait below. At Huanglongxi Ancient Town, my child couldn't resist the water; the stream was very cool, so remember to bring an extra set of clothes.

The overall experience was enjoyable. Lunch was provided and the food quality was good too. I had a good time exploring Leshan and visiting Huanglongxi, the ancient water town. I only wish we had more time to explore Huanglongxi, it has many well preserved old buildings, absoluyelu love the place.

It was a lovely day, that enabled me to see two places in one tour. My guide Pax took me around the Panda Base, it is huge so it’s ideal having a guide to help you. Then we went to Leshan, which was beautiful and well worth the drive. It’s a long day but I would highly recommend :)

Fun and exciting trip! Lots of walking and hiking. Being able to speak Putonghua is an advantage. Everyone was very nice and friendly.
