We had a very enjoyable time learning how to make Yakgwa with Stella. Her studio is very neat and cozy. She is also generous enough to share her own unique Chestnut-filled Yakgwa Cookie recipe. It came out really good, probably the best most delicious yakgwa we have eaten. I'm pretty sure we can make it at home. We also each took home a beautiful bag of boxed Yakgwa that we made in class. Stella converses well in English. If you want to find her place, plot Maremohe on Naver Map. She is also very responsive on Instagram.
I joined a traditional yakgwa (Korean honey cookie) baking class with Estella 🍪 I was the only participant, so it felt very personal — and it was so much fun! The yakgwa were beautifully wrapped at the end — such a lovely touch 💫
I took a one-day class where I learned how to make Korean-style cookies with yakgwa. It was a really fun experience! The instructor was kind and very friendly, and the desserts turned out absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was lovely—you could see beautiful big trees through the large windows, and the place was very clean. I truly enjoyed this activity, and it felt very meaningful to me. I even brought the cookies home for my dad, and he loved them so much!
This experience was absolutely perfect. Estella was incredibly sweet and welcoming. I was the only participant that day, but that was no problem at all for her. She made me feel completely at ease from the very start. She was very patient and shared wonderfully detailed information about the cookies and each step of the process. It honestly felt less like a class and more like visiting a friend to bake cookies together. The atmosphere was warm, open, and relaxed, with lovely conversations while working on the cookies. You can really tell that a lot of thought has gone into every detail of this experience. A truly wonderful and memorable activity. I highly recommend it!
I had a wonderful session learning to bake Yakgwa cookies! I was late but Estrella was very kind to wait for me. I got to learn about the history of Yakgwa and get to bring my cookies home! The studio is at a charming location just 15mins walk from Hongdae station. Highly recommend this activity!
our family had a fantastic experience with Estella! Her attention to detail from the moment we walked in the door to leaving with our elegantly wrapped and delicious cookies was first class. The studio was clean and bright, she showed genuine interest in our experience and the finished product was so beautiful we want to give them all alway! would definitely recommend this class and will easily be on of our highlights from our visit!
I had the most extraordinary time making these cookies and learning about the history of them! thank you! (he liked them 🤭)
Such a lovely class! spotless clean and tidy, very relaxing environment. making traditional cakes has been so much fun.
This is a fun experience for creative people wanting to do a relaxing activity. The owner is friendly and conversation with her flows naturally. She welcomed us with iced corn tea on a hot day, while giving a short history lesson on yakgwa. Her studio is clean and has a nice view. The cookies you bake to pair with the yakgwa is vegan, which makes it a nice gifts for people with lactose allergies or food restrictions.
We had a wonderful time making a modern fusion version of the Yakgwa cookie. Estella was very kind and since there were just the three of us in the class it felt like a very personal experience. The cookies were delicious and we each got to take home our beautifully decorated cookies in a souvenir box. This was a memorable experience which I would recommend!
