Queenstown til Christchurch Mt Cook og Lake Tekapo liten gruppetur

Vår nylige biltur fra Queenstown til Christchurch var intet mindre enn spektakulær. Denne reisen er en mesterklasse i New Zealands naturlige skjønnhet, og byr på landskap som føles hentet rett fra et filmsett. Etter å ha forlatt Queenstown, er kjøreturen gjennom det gresskledde Lindis Pass uhyggelig vakkert. Vi tok et raskt stopp i Omarama – før landskapet skiftet til det dramatiske Mackenzie Country. Lake Pukaki og Mount Cook: Ingenting forbereder deg på det første glimtet av Lake Pukaki. Vannet er en umulig lys, melkeaktig turkis. Å følge strandlinjen mot Aoraki/Mount Cook var høydepunktet; å se den snødekte toppen av New Zealands høyeste fjell reflektert i vannet er et minne jeg vil bevare for alltid. Lake Tekapo: Et stopp ved den ikoniske Church of the Good Shepherd er essensielt. Kontrasten mellom steinkapellet og den livlige blå innsjøen er fantastisk. Den siste strekningen gjennom Canterbury Plains inn til Christchurch bød på en fredelig overgang fra de barske alpene til «Hagebyen».

We booked a Queenstown to Christchurch transfer tour for June 26th. From the start, communication was seamless; the reception team quickly answered all pre-trip questions and sent helpful safety reminders. Everything was perfectly well-prepared. The driving was exceptionally safe. Our morning guide was high-energy, sharing great local stories. The guides clearly love their jobs and the NZ landscape, taking us to secret viewpoints with plenty of photo time. Their boss even called ahead during the trip to check road conditions after recent snow—a thoughtful touch. They also saved our day at Mt Cook by providing ice spikes when we realized our running shoes weren't enough, alongside water and snacks. The transition to the next leg was seamless. The lady who took over was highly responsible, ensuring we forgot nothing and waiting with us. Finally, our Christchurch driver safely dropped everyone off right at their respective hotels on time. Veldig god valuta for pengene, og utrolig gøy. Landskapet underveis var fantastisk vakkert, som om vi var i Ringenes Herre-verdenen. Våre to guider var også veldig entusiastiske og omtenksomme. Hvis bilen kunne vært oppgradert, hadde det vært enda bedre.

En dag lang biltur! Men det var absolutt ikke kjedelig! Du får virkelig oppleve den storslåtte naturen på Sørøya i New Zealand. Siden du kan stoppe ved mange forskjellige steder, synes jeg dette er en veldig prisgunstig tur. Jeg er japansk og deltok alene. Jeg var bekymret for om jeg ville forstå møtetidene, siden jeg ikke er så god i engelsk, men sjåføren forklarte det på en vennlig og lettfattelig måte, slik at jeg følte meg trygg! Tusen takk. Under bilturen ga han oss også mye informasjon om New Zealand. Hvis jeg hadde forstått engelsk bedre... ville jeg nok hatt det enda morsommere (haha). I bilen var det flaskevann og snacks, som vi kunne ta gratis. Dette var veldig nyttig, da vi gikk mye underveis på turen.

the driver was so punctual in picking us up. he helped us in our baggages. he is so knowledgable in history of queenstown and nearby cities. he discussed a lot until i fall asleep… he dropped us in some picture spots and discuss to us the transfer that we need in the mount cook. the next driver is also very diligent in discussing stories along our way.

What I really appreciated about this tour was that it uniquely offers many sightseeing spots while including a fuss-free transfer from Queenstown to Christchurch. There is also the option to trek at Mt Cook or visit the cafe for a nice lunch. However, the journey was quite uncomfortable because the 15-seater van was fully packed - and I was certainly too close for comfort to an uncle in the single seat who kept popping to his left and right to take photos ;_; Worst of all, when we reached Lake Tekapo & Church of the Good Shepherd, we only had FIFTEEN MINUTES. During which, I had to use the toilet, and there was ONE functioning toilet, and an extremely long line T_T I spent all 15 minutes queuing for the toilet, and didn’t even make it across the bridge to see the Church up close. So my memory of Lake Tekapo will, unfortunately, just be of queuing for the one toilet cubicle. Maybe in future I’ll just fly and then book a day trip instead…

Great itinerary. The service was on time and the transition from queenstown service to christchurch was smooth. Considering the distance and overall tour I’d say its worth it
