Great place at an incredible price. The staff were extremely helpful on numerous occasions when needed. One of the best places I’ve ever stayed PLUS an amazing view of the castle!

We absolutely loved our stay at Kumamoto Hotel Castle! This is a first class hotel located in the heart of Kumamoto City. As soon as you enter the property, you are acknowledged and welcomed by the amazing staff. Our check in process was smooth and we were escorted to our room quickly. The room was immaculate and had a nice modern Japanese feel to it. We loved the furo (soaking tub) especially after a long day of walking and exploring. The location is near to the Kumamoto Castle and you can enjoy great views from the hotel. There’s also a very close shopping district with many vendors and food options. We will definitely return to this hotel the next time we visit Kumamoto City. We highly recommend Kumamoto Hotel Castle!

We only stayed one night and weren’t able to use the restaurants etc as our main goal was to see the castle and tour surrounding areas.The castle is a short walk away. The hotel was built in 1960 has a vibe of a classic old Japanese hotel. But well maintained. The staff speak minimal English. I liked the room and had a view of the castle. My only complaint was there was no English tv. Not even BBC or CNN news.

Room is old, but it was very clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast was very nice with great choice and healthy, but little difficult to place food because it is crowded on the counter. (Cannot put down plate to pick the food). Love the BGM in during the breakfast and room.

Great location if Kumamoto is your priority. Also, it is located in a cool area of Kumamoto with record stores, used clothing store, a lot of night life, and some awesome off the beaten path and upcoming restaurants. The room I had was dated, but that added to the vibes in many ways. Didn't drink there, but the El Dorado club looked old school - like Vegas 1970s but updated somehow. I would go back to work through some Sochu. Overall, great place for the price.

Love the spacious room and separate toilet and bathroom layout. The wide sink area was also fantastic to allow 2 persons to use at the same time.
