The room was pretty good. Very comfortable and clean. We were a bit taken a back at the surprise charge for parking - this was not mentioned upon booking and considering the cost of the room perhaps could have been factored into the cost.

Standard of hotel staff has fallen over the past year or so. Ignored while waiting to check in , staff burst into the room at around 9.35AM On a sunday after one knock. No time to even reach the door. Then didnt leave the room until i turned to look after about 40 seconds. No apology . After the staff left the room there was then continuous banging along the corridor and slamming of doors. Staff talking Loud I dont know whether the staff are students or what. But they havent been trained how to treat all guests with respect. I used to enjoy staying here but now after a few years ive noticed the standards have declined and unfortunately will most likely be the last stay here .

Arrived to nobody on reception. Had a phone number to call but the phone was left at reception so was stood around. Carpet in the room was taped together and did not look clean. Shower was about as powerful as a 2 day old.

I’m afraid I cannot recommend this hotel. The AC not working - the rooms on the top floor very hot and uncomfortable. The lift and internet only work intermittently. Breakfast pretty basic. The hotel has a very interesting aviation history but unfortunately the current state doesn’t do justice to it’s illustrious past.

Clean place , nice bar and very good breakfast, room very good and clean , staff nice and helpful Will stay there again

I find in incomprehensible that in modern Britain, that housekeeping needs to knock on the door to find out if you have vacated the room so they have to hammer on doors at 8;30 to see if you are still in the room. when she eventually found an empty room you could hear everything she was doing no consideration for residents who may may still be in bed, which is to be expected in a room where check out is not until 11:00. Spoilt the stay for me. Also the room had frosted windows, not good if you like daylight to apply make-up etc.
