Stayed at the Luxury & Club room. When entering the room, toilet was not clean with stains in toilet. Amenities were not replenished, toothbrush given was of poor quality. Corridors were dirty and smelly. Wrote an email to both duty manager & general manager, yet not even a single reply. Went for dinner at Navaratna restaurant, bill was overcharged, ordered Kashmiri Naan as I am vegetarian instead they served Mutton Keema Naan saying that it is Kashmiri Naan. Absolutely horrible from a Taj brand. Never going to stay here again.

Very good service

We enjoyed our stay at the Taj, having been here on a number of occasions. A slight hiccup when we first arrived was the only downside. Food is good, staff are friendly and it's a good location.

We had a memorable one-night stay at Taj Samudra, and the experience surpassed all expectations. The hotel’s cleanliness and the quality of the rooms and facilities were immediately evident, setting a premium standard from the moment we arrived. What truly stood out was the staff’s incredible hospitality. The smiles, genuine care, and kindness from the entire team made our family feel valued and welcome throughout our visit. Special thanks to the team at Port of Call Restaurant: Tithila, Dilhara, Dileka, Malaka, Athauda, and Prabath for their exceptional customer service, their warmth left a lasting impression and brightened our day as we departed. Restaurant Manager for taking time to chat with our family during breakfast, enhancing the overall experience at Port of Call Restaurant. Port of Call offered a superb breakfast buffet with an amazing and wide variety of items. Everything was delicious and mouth-watering, beautifully catering to all tastes and preferences and perfectly complementing our celebration of my cousin’s incredible wedding the night before. Check-out was seamless, courtesy of Executive Secretary Thamali, whose kindness and care while we waited for transport added the final, thoughtful touch to our stay. I would highly recommend Taj Samudra to anyone seeking outstanding service, superb dining, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. This hotel truly elevated our family’s experience and left us with smiles that stayed long after we left.

This is my first visit to Taj samudra and I really enjoyed my stay. Specially I should appreciate Harsha, Malala, Ruwan, Dilahara and Gayan. I would like to recommend this hotel to my family and friends.

Outstanding

What I liked the most was the view from room. The hotel needs a good renovation. Loved the decore in the room. Needs to be more generous with the towels etc. always some towel is missing. As for the food it was good but all the sambals need attention. The chefs need to learn how to make a good lunumiris, seen sambal etc. Wattalappan fantastic. Oat porridge not ok. Fruit selection ok but no mango. How about some original sinhalese sweets. Kevun, thalaguli, arsmi, kokis kaludodol?

The sea view room was just an amazing experience. The staff are very hospitable and welcoming. There was a good selection of breakfast. The location is very convenient.
