I had a wonderful stay at Macalister Terrace Hotel. The hotel is very comfortable, clean, and has a really nice ambience that made the stay relaxing and enjoyable. A special thanks to Liz, who was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Her warm hospitality and excellent service truly made the experience even better. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and comfortable stay in Penang. I would definitely come back again!

Had a great stay.

I cannot say enough about the staff at Macallister Terraces Hotel. When we arrived Sai was very kind and welcoming. He was very knowledgeable of the area and was able to recommend places to eat and visit. Sagor and Jame were always responsive to our needs and kep the property very neat and tidy. Anpa is the evening night clerk. He, too was very helpful and was able to suggest places to visit. Lastly, Liza. Liza ensured that all of our needs, no matter how slight, were met. The hotel itself is very clean and quiet. It is well placed in Georgetown. We were able to walk short distances to places to shop and a large variety of places to eat. The hawker stalls serve amazing food! There is char koay teow just down the street. I would stay at Macallister Terraces again-for the people, and the location.

Staff is top notch. Liza deserves a raise! Amenities are fine, but the razor is ridiculously low quality; Better to not have it. Great mattresses and linens.

Unique & fully of heritage design, friendly staff

The staff is very friendly and welcoming, they will also suggesting the spots which worth for visiting, and the room and very clean and comfortable. Definitely worth your penny 👍

To be honest, I hesitated giving 4 star, as it's a very basic hotel, no amenities, no lift (if u carry heavy luggage, good luck) or fancy facilities. Plus the person that checked me in gave me a room that was going to undergo a 3-day renovation (with drilling!) in the next few days, without telling me. Hey, I was going to stay there for 7 days! The room he gave me was smaller than what I saw in the pics (narrow walkway between bed and TV wall, plus queen bed only) and I was really upset when the drilling happened. And he was neither smiley, friendly, nor helpful. I wonder why was he even in hospitality line. Thankfully, Sai, another staff whom I reached out to, gave me superb service recovery. He switched me to another room away from the renovation, and was also sized similar to most pictures I'd seen (decent space between King bed and TV wall). It's because of him and this service recovery that made me finally decided to give 4 star from my initial intent of only 1 star! It could have been 3, perhaps. I would say I'll be kind and round it up to 4 just because of Sai. But personally, I probably wouldn't book this hotel again. Will give some other places a try.

Staff was nice, room was clean, near from everything. I love it

Requested room at ground floor because no lift there two months ago. Responded quick and agreed but still give us room upstairs
