The hotel is over priced for what is provided and comparable hotels of better quality are available in the area for a fraction of the room rate charged at this hotel. In fact, there are two multi story hotels right next door where you can get a double room and breakfast for less than $80.00, whereas this hotel charges $250/night. f one wants to experience the hotel, just take the guided visit, but stay at another hotel. The breakfast is pitiful, and barely any selection and if ordering from the menu on the table, the server removes the menu immediately after you make your order to prevent you from requesting other items from the menu even though the hotel offers a full breakfast in the room rate. The choices and quantities on the breakfast buffet are so poor that guests just glance at the offering and turn around and go outside the hotel to find breakfast. There is essentially no hotel room service, bath towels are not changed, minimal in room coffee and tea choices and quantities are limited, and room features are quite bare. Room lighting is very poor and the general room atmosphere is dark and cold. We have stayed at far better and higher quality hotels in Penang at a comparable room rate but after experiencing the Cheong Fatt Tze Blue Mansion we would not recommend it to anyone and we regret having spent so much to get so little.

Had everything needed for a wonderful stay. The building is around 150 years old so don't expect modern amenities, but it has very good facilities nonetheless. Staff were friendly and very helpful, room extremely comfortable, good A/C, good pool and excellent breakfast range. The free tour was a great bonus. It's in easy walking distance of all the main sights in George Town and the area felt very safe. Worth staying at the Blue Mansion just to say that you have stayed there. The fact it is also a very decent hotel in addition to being a top tourist attraction is the icing on the cake

Beautiful place to stay. All the staff were amazing and we found the location convenient.

We had a lovely 3 night stay at The Blue Mansion. The hotel has a fascinating history and as a resident you can join one of the twice daily tours to find out more. The bedroom was huge and the air conditioning very efficient. The bed was the biggest we’ve ever slept in and the shower was powerful with plenty of hot water. We had breakfast in the hotel. There was a choice of fruit juices, cereal and fresh fruit. You could order a cooked breakfast and there was bread available to toast and a choice of 2 cakes. The staff couldn’t do enough for you. Would highly recommend.

Great stay in this unique hotel. The property has been carefully renovated to an exceptionally high standard. Our room was extremely spacious and very well equipped, with efficient air conditioning. Breakfast is served in the beautiful courtyard and provides an extensive choice of options. Staff are friendly and helpful.

The staff at Cheong Fatt Tze and The Qing Suites are exceptional and kind. The property is very well kept and the breakfast was exceptional - I recommend the Nasi Ulam! The Manager kindly helped us with our bags into our Grab on departure. Thank you for a great stay!

Great stay in this unusual and historic building. The room was large and full of period features. Staff were all lovely. Breakfast was good. Hotel is in a great location with various sights within walking distance.

Cheong Fatt Tze- The Blue Mansion is a gem. It's a remodeled old building with some of the quirks of an old building, adding to its charm and exemplifying its significant history. The staff is wonderful, very helpful and accommodating. My room was spacious with all the amenities one would expect in a 5 star hotel. I highly recommend the hotel and make sure you take the building tour.
