Luar Biasa We were a family of four and space is a huge deal for us in oder for our younger one to fall asleep while we are up. The amenities and location was also especially great. Lots of restaurants and places to visit within walking distance. We will look into other Mimaru hotels we didn't expect a Japanese hotel to have these size rooms. Also such a family kid friendly hotel with a play area for the kids at the lobby area. I look at reviews to see what others think I hope this helps someone else be able to book this hotel where space, location, washing machines are imported.

Didn’t plan it but our stay coincided with the Gion festival in mid July. Mimaru even offered free guided tours of one of the elaborate floats; what a unique experience! The location is in a quiet neighborhood but easy walking distance to all the shopping and restaurants. The unit is clean, bright, and enough room for our family of 4. A great stay for our first trip to Kyoto. Highly recommend!

We stayed in the Pokémon room and it was everything we could've dreamed of. Pokemon covered every surface and the washroom was all water pokemon themed. Even dishware was all pokeball themed. The special welcome gift was super cute and easy to share amongst 3 travellers. And of course - the giant snorlax plushy was the star of the room. The hotel itself was clean, perfectly located in a walkable yet quiet neighbourhood. We'd absolutely stay again.

Very location with easy access to almost everything. My wife and I brought our two young kids for the visit to Kyoto. The kids loved the bunk bed a lot and play games in the room. The AC is cool and made the stay very enjoyable in the hot summer heat.
We will definitely come back for our next visit to Kyoto

LOVED staying at this MIMARU in Kyoto! Location was great (about an 8 minute walk to the subway and right next to a family mart and even a grocery store 5 minute walk away). Front desk was very helpful and courteous, room was spacious and clean. We were traveling as a family of four with two boys, ages 10 and 13, and we have already recommended this hotel to friends entertaining the idea of a Japan vacation!

Okay, so the staff was amazing and the room was clean and spacious. We got the Pokemon room and it was underwhelming at best. I suggest not booking this room if you are not trying to spend a bunch of money for a few stickers on the walls.
