Did not know there was going to be a $40.00 resort fee per day. Most other hotels in DC don't have this.

We absolutely loved this hotel and will definitely stay again if we return to Washington. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and upgraded our room because we preferred a room with a view and the one we booked was an internal one. The room was a good size and spotlessly clean with a small but perfectly adequate en-suite with walk in shower. Unfortunately the cooler in the room didn’t work properly but they immediately provided us with a fridge, no hassle. The rooftop bar has a happy hour from 3pm-6pm and also has a limited snacks menu. The bar is open to the public in the evening. The Eaton DC hotel is in a pleasant location within easy walking distance to the White House and the National Mall, and only a short distance from a metro station, so is an excellent base for visiting the national monuments and museums etc.
The only downside to our stay was that The Bakers Daughter onsite café and Michele’s restaurant on the ground floor were both closed so it wasn’t possible to have breakfast or dine at the hotel. This was very disappointing as we prefer to eat in the hotel, but it was possible to order breakfast online from the Mamma Dos café at the end of the block who had a special arrangement with the hotel where they delivered food ordered online, or alternatively you could visit them in person, which is what we did every single day of our trip! Their cooked breakfasts and pastries were very good and we would highly recommend making a visit.

This hotel is both gorgeous and distinctive -- like no other in DC. I loved playing vinyl in our room and stopping in at the speakeasy for a nightcap. It's unfortunate that all the amenities don't seem to be operating -- the bakery, the record studio, even the roof was closed.
But I would still highly recommend it for its comfort, style, and DC vibe, and of course a great central location.
