Blisteringly hot in the room and a/c not working. Windows all restricted opening so impossible to get through draft. Breakfast ok but good coffee would be a useful addition - and please will someone go a try a proper French croissant before serving these chewy tired imitations. Location great, pool a fabulous addition. Could be so good - just needs to belong to an organisation who care.

So excellent location for RSC theatre and Stratford, relatively cheap, good parking, nice pool, dog friendly… downsides … vanilla quality big hotel mass tourism, as far from boutique as possible. A/c not working on a hot day, rooms a bit tired.

Solo stay

For £285 for one night I was expecting a hell of a lot more. Tired rooms, bathroom and bed all in dire need of an update. TV channels didn't work. Very disappointed and not worth the cost.

Room is good size and comfortable. Aircon didn’t work very well. Some reception staff were good but one, possibly new, didn’t seem to know what to do. We’ve stayed before and it’s very handy for the theatre with plenty of parking at reasonable cost. We didn’t have breakfast this time as we’ve eaten there before and it was dreadful. We had tea in the bar while waiting for checkin but were driven out by the awful muzac and the constant thudding, headache inducing beat in every song. Unfortunately you could also hear it in the nearby sitting room. Guests should be aware that there are no lifts and frequent short flights of steps with no ramps.

Not a luxury hotel by any standards. Only good thing about it is location if you want to visit Stratford up on Avon and surroundings areas. Upgrade we bought not available. Food above average. I suppose it’s actually an ok hotel but sells itself as something much more so you naturally come away disappointed and dissatisfied.

Fantastic

Solo stay

Yes I had a great stay sadly I wasn’t able to do the dining experience or my breakfast but nevertheless clean sheets fantastic bed maybe just a little bit better on the tea and coffee side. I didn’t want to bother anybody for the fresh milk that should be in the fridge but all in all fantastic day, thank you

Everything was fine, friendly, helpful staff, good room, well fur is her. Only a few niggles - a pancake shower is not user friendly for a Quick shower, no USB sockets in the room, room service after 9pm was rather limited.

Unfortunately the air conditioning was broken and there was no one on site to take a look at it. As there was a fan in the room, we assume the air con wasn’t working. We had a good welcome at reception. We were less impressed by there being no bar snacks/crisps at the bar on a Saturday night. The service was slow but they did apologise. The food in the dining room was very average. The pool was great. For the £214 we paid for the night (bedroom only) and it being part of the MacDonald group, we did expect better. It was a very convenient location.
