Great

Stayed with family

The hotel room had everything you needed for a short stay and the breakfast was a high standard. The hotel was quite tired and room needed updating and did not have a nice outlook. Noise outside did affect our sleep.

Excellent customer service, everyone was so friendly. Ideally located in the city Room was very clean, water tea and coffee replenished daily. High quality breakfast choice of cold buffet and cooked to order hot food. Food available in both the bar and restaurant in addition could take a coffee in the lobby

Good

Solo stay

I had to switch rooms the first night because there were some moths and dirty sheets. However that’s fine because the next room was perfect. Until the TV didn’t work. It was efficiently replaced though. Aside from the hotel, which was lovely, and the staff, who were very attentive, the city of Belfast itself was not ready to host visitors. Blatant displays of racism from its white citizens, including violence directly across the street from the hotel. Public intoxication and aggression from its young adult population, in the early evening (6-8pm). I did not feel comfortable leaving the hotel at night. I mentioned it to the hotel staff and they didn’t seem surprised. The bus tour I took north of the city was delightful (McCombs Coach Travel), but other than that I can’t recommend the city of Belfast as a tourist destination. (I was there at the end of June, 2026 for reference).

From location to employee everything was wonderful until it was time to check out. We were charged to $50 deposit when we checked in and the person who checked us out, even though we told him three times that we were charged the $50 deposit, didn’t give us a refund. It took quite a bit of effort to get the refund. On top of that, they had called us a taxi and because we were dealing with the issue with the refund, the taxi driver had to wait for us about 10 minutes and the taxi driver‘s meter was running the whole time. The hotel is very nice. It’s in a great location. The amenities are lovely. That issue with the employee, it was the only thing that kept our trip from being perfect.

This is a good hotel in a great location. Just a few steps from the train station and a few blocks from city hall and the center of town. We walked most places but used taxis when it rained or time was tight. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent full service with some continental offerings.

Stayed two nights at the Fitzwilliam Hotel last week and the hotel staff could not have been more accommodating. A huge shout out to the concierge desk consisting of Gerard, Paul, and Gavin; all of whom went out of the way to make our first visit to Belfast comfortable and memorable. Although most of the city restaurants and bars were closed during the late afternoon due to the recent protests/demonstrations, the concierge staff made several recommendations for places that they knew would remain open, where the food was good, and where we would feel safe: the Morning Star, Kelly's Cellars, and the Mourne Seafood Bar next door to Kelly's Cellars. Lastly, knowing that my wife and I wanted to book a two-hour Black Taxi tour, the concierge desk recommended Paul, who everyone refers to as "Starsky" at a cost of 80 pounds. Instead, of a two-hour tour, though, for the next 3 1/2 hours, Paul drove us along Falls Road and Shankill Road where we learned all about the challenging moments and troubles in Belfast, while seeing the city's murals and peace walls, and hearing the various versions of Ireland's history, at no additional charge. In addition to the Titanic Museum, a Black Taxi tour with Starsky is a "must".

I was excited when I learned we were on the 8th floor (out of 9), but was disappointed when I got to the room. No real view, we were on the wrong side of the hall! Room was also small compared to the other places we stayed on our 15 day tour of Ireland and Northern Ireland. And this was the most expensive so I guess I had my hopes up. But they gave us a great recommendation for dinner, and the location was great, we walked everywhere. Also super convenient to Grand Central Station.
