We stayed here about a year ago and it was really nice. This time around it was very run down. It was clean but things were about to break, the taps in our room were about to come off you had to be careful when using them.
The place just needs a fair amount of tlc. It is in a beautiful location and has so much going for it but the stained curtains in the restaurant, the lack of hospitality, I’m not sure if they were short staffed or not but I thought they could use another staff member so we didn’t have to wait. I went to reception to book our dinner and had to use their phone to call them to book. Breakfast was a shambles, no butter for the toast, the staff member we asked seemed very confused about this. The dinner was beautifully presented and nice. Had to send back our drink of coke as it was mainly soda water as the mix had run out.
On the plus side our bed was extremely comfortable and had the best nights sleep.
