FantasticSolo stay
Was in town for Midsummer Scream and decided to stay on The Queen Mary. Room was clean and comfortable, check in was smooth and staff very friendly and accommodating. The only downside for me is no AC, BUT you are staying in a historical ship and it thankfully doesn’t get too warm. Love being able to walk the decks and take in the sights. Will stay again!

It was a great stay at The Queen Mary. We were going on a cruise the next day and it is so convenient to the terminal. Would stay here again.

GreatStayed with friends · For friends and family
The Queen Mary has now been permanently docked in Long Beach twice as long as she sailed. Unfortunately it appears that the owners may be struggling to maintain her. Carpet in the hallways and other public space is threadbare and held down in places with duct tape. Portions of the original wooden deck have been covered with plywood which is now so old that it feels spongy underfoot. Paint is peeling from the outer hull. That said, our room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant prices are reasonable and the food is average. My sister and I shared a Philly Steak sandwich that was so dry we needed to drink water with every bite , but our respective husbands had no complaint except that after ordering the fish tacos, we were informed that no fish was available despite much of the menu being compromised of fish dishes. The lounge mixed one of the best Margaritas I’ve had in awhile. The servers were friendly and attentive. The ice cream/coffee counter was understaffed leading to some long waits with just one employee managing everything. The gift shop had the usual branded fare. I bought a luggage tag for $15 that immediately began falling apart upon attaching it to my suitcase and will need to be glued so as to remain serviceable. If the hotel was once considered a luxury stay, that time has passed, but it is affordable and convenient to the Catalina Ferry dock.

Staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the history of the ship. The observation bar/lounge has a cool nostalgic and sophisticated vibe.

Below averageStayed with friends
Our bathroom was not clean, we laid down towels to feel comfortable stepping on the floor and tried to just stay as central in the shower as possible with out touching anything. The room itself was decent, except for there is no AC in the rooms. They said we could request a fan so we requested 2 after walking in to the heavy sea air trapped inside. Thankfully we were able to open our windows or that would have been the most miserable night I’ve ever spent in a hotel. The pillows were nice and the beds were ok. The biggest disappointment came from the check in and lack of hospitable information. We clearly were so excited to be there, it was a late check in and the front desk was definitely now welcoming. It was clear my excitement and questions were annoying and bothersome. We chose to stay here to absorb the history and see this magnificent ship that was so pivotal and I have ALWAYS want to stay hewe wanted to do a tour or 2, it said one was included so when I asked how to sign up I was directed to purchase all tours on their website. It made me pause but I thought ok! when we looked online for the tours, they are $58 or $68 I can’t remember. We were on a budget but really wanted to stay here, with breakfast not being included we decided to do 1 tour, but found out as we were leaving from other guests that the tours are $25 each for guests and purchased at the desk. Couldn’t have felt less welcomed and like our business was not appreciated. I am still just disappointed

The rooms are absolutely amazing. It is so fun sending days on the ship and thinking of all the amazing people who have sailed on it. Very fun experience. I want to plan an experience without driving.
