I'd only recommend staying here if you won't rely on this hotel for help with anything. The rooms are nice and spacious and modern but the service is atrocious. The hotel is also located in the middle of nowhere with very few restaurants around. There is a nice view near the hotel though.
We booked a boat tour with the hotel when we checked in which turned out to be a fiasco. We knew it was much more expensive than booking on our own but figured going through the hotel was easier. When we checked out, we had to ask for our passports back otherwise they wouldn't have given them back. The minivan that took us to the pier was falling apart and they crammed people into it but we were okay with that. What we weren't okay with was all that ensued afterward - we were told we could store our bags at their office by the pier but that wasn't the case. The boat tour was canceled due to bad weather and we had to insist on the tour operators calling the hotel to confirm where to drop us off as they just said they would take us back to the hotel when we'd already checked out and booked a bus to Hanoi through the hotel which stopped by the pier. We were dropped off at a restaurant, told to wait 30 minutes when in actual fact we waited over an hour, and when the bus arrived it was sent away by someone who then had to call it back and we were very rudely told the bus was full and we had to take plastic chairs from the restaurant onto the bus - when we had paid for tickets the day before.
