The Royal Park Canvas Kyoto Nijo

The hotel is located near a Starbucks, a small mall, a Starbucks and a train station. It might not be the station you need, so look into where you are likely to visit to make sure this location is right for you. The rooms were a nice size. The shower was amazing. I don't know that I've ever written a positive review about a shower before, but this one deserves a 5star shower review. If the location works for your plans, I highly recommend this hotel. One plus is that there is a small area in the reception area for sitting. This is incredibly common in the states, but not so common amongst the hotels we stayed at in Japan.

The place was nice and clean, and the beds were also big. It was super clean with the black interior and convenient with the train station. Would book again

Very close to transport. Our room with 2 single beds was nice and spacey, good bathroom size. Staff not good at answering any questions.

This property is right beside the Nijo station, a mall with tons of restaurants, and streets filled with more restaurants! Highly convenient as well since it's only a bus ride away to tourist areas such as Nishiki Market, Gion, Kumo River, and all the shrines/temples. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. This property also comes with a laundry area, a public bath, breakfast (for a fee). Rooms are spacious compared to most hotels in Japan. Overall an awesome and convenient property for it's proximity to transportation and restaurants.

This hotel is a bit far from main attractions but if you are willing to walk or take the bus it’s a great place to stay. The rooms are big and the bed is amazing! The best we had during our stay in Japan. The hotel is close to the Nijo station which is good for some of the sites but most require many changes so we would just walk and enjoy the sites along the way. We also loved the staff and the breakfast was decent. Highly recommend

Very close to the NIJO castle + not far from centre. Room was well maintained and clean, Staff were always helpful.

We had a wonderful stay at The Royal park Canvas Nijo. We loved the location right across from Nijo Station. We also fell in love with the Life supermarket a block away and enjoyed shopping there. There are a variety of restaurants near by too we tried a few but if you are on a budget the Life Market nightly discount bentos are tasty and a great deal. Where else can you get a bento for less than $5 CAD. We had a triple room. So it was 2 single bed with a made up sofa bed. The rooms are ok size wise I would say it is typical of Japan. Room and hotel is clean bathroom shower was surprising large. The breakfast was good. It is not huge but sufficiently large enough that you will find something to eat. Our favourite was the coffee machine. Not for the coffee but the Ice Matcha Latte. The trick is to get a cup full of ice first from the ice machine then get the ice Matcha option. We know matcha Latte is not authentic Japanese but it is soooo good, I personally did not try the public bath (because I was sick) but my friend who stayed at a different room did and said the water was hot and not very busy when she went every night before bedtime. Over all I would recommend Canvas Nijo for its location, amenities and clean comfortable rooms.
