An incredible unique experience. Room was spacious and complete with amenities. The meals were phenomenal - a true showcase of Japanese cuisine. Be prepared however for noise - the walls are paper thin. We complained to the front desk and they immediately asked the other guests to be respectful.

Beautiful hotel with Japanese garden connected to the room. Matcha room has private outdoor soaking tub over looking garden. Very zen atmosphere! 15 minute cab ride from Kyoto station in local neighborhood.

The best hotel we stayed in our entire trip. The staff was helpful and the customer service outstanding. We paid for the dinner and breakfast as well and it was amazing!

Ryokan meal was excellent, 5 stars! The most authentic dining experience we ve ever had. Meticulously prepared courses served in true Japanese tradition. A MUST DO for both breakfast and lunch!!!
The room itself was typical minimalist Japanese and very clean. We had a little trouble going up and down the steep stairs to the bedroom, made harder with no stair rails. Make sure you are fit enough to eat and sleep on the floor also. Something our Western bodies needed to get used to. A great experience overall in a perfect quiet location.
