The Pickwick Hotel

Where to begin… So for starters we pulled into the parking garage and a car was blocking the entrance. We had no idea if we were even in the right place to begin with so we had to back all the way out the entrance back to the street. I then dropped my wife off who confirmed we were in the right spot, but they didn’t know why the car was blocking the entrance. Inconvenient to start. The room itself is mediocre at best. AC was insanely loud and smelled funny. And overall quality of room was mediocre. The real kicker was that the main light to our room couldn’t turn off. So come 11 at night when we try and go to bed, it was unfortunate to find out we would be sleeping with the light on. Of course with kids this isn’t going to work so I had to cover the light with a black shirt by standing on a table to reach it. Staff was nice but no manager and no maintenance person on duty, combined with no open rooms made for a very tough night of sleep. Then it comes time to leave. To make a long story short, mind you management still hasn’t found time to contact us about our room/light issue yet, we go to retrieve our car from the garage. Takes a good 20+ minutes at least to get our car. Attendant was not polite at all. At one point he handed me my keys and walks away like I’m free to go. Problem was my car was blocked in by 4 other cars. Just an overall pretty unfortunate experience. I do think it’s probably an ok place to stay normally, but we will not be returning.

Love the pickwick have stayed several times never had a bad experience

Pickwick is a hidden gem. Been recommending it to friends and family for 30 years. Does not look like much from the outside but the rooms are very comfortable, quiet and price cannot be beat. Have stayed in numerous 1 to 5 star hotels in my life. Pickwick is among the best values out there.

Everyone was great except for the attendant at the parking garage. I have thick skin but the guy was so aggressively rude despite me being so kind from the initial greeting that I had to call him out on his attitude and take a star away from here. I told the front desk about his behavior and they said the parking garage is a separate entity. While I’d usually let it slide from there, I have to remember that this is also the garage the hotel directly affiliates itself with. I don’t usually leave reviews, but everyone else was so great from check-in staff to the sweet cleaning lady that I felt the need to let them know who their partnered with doesn’t carry the same level of service.

Air con not working but it wouldn't put me off staying here again. Overall value for money and staff on front desk very helpful

All good except the young bartender very not experience

Its an older Hotels, but kept up pretty good. Bed was comfortable, great view. The Staff was very helpful & kind, parking price was kinda excessive, but what isn't under this administration right now. Area was ok. No complaints.

Easy check-in, clean rooms and a nice environment. I'd recommend this hotel.
