About the event
A continuous audiovisual ritual and seamless immersive journey that transcends the traditional concert experience. Anchored in contemporary percussion, the programme reinterprets the ancient Chinese ‘eight sounds’, encompassing categories defined by natural materials like metal, stone, clay, and leather. At its heart lies Oscar‑winning composer Tan Dun’s seminal Water Music – a landmark piece that channels the elemental power of water into sound, where droplets, ripples and cascades become musical gestures that evoke nature’s rhythms and human expression.
Visual artist Peng Ke’s light‑sculpture projections dance with the music, heightening sensation and emotion. Sound and image invite reflection on acoustic vibration, nature and cultural ritual, offering a feast for the senses and a moment to ponder our place in the harmony of sound, nature and ceremony.
The programme runs approximately 1 hours without break.
