Angélique Kidjo—Mother Nature|Concert Introduction

Soulful sounds from Africa’s powerhouse diva will get you hyped up
Five-time Grammy award winner Angélique Kidjo has brought the soul of Africa to the world throughout a brilliant career spanning more than 40 years. She was recently awarded the prestigious Polar Music Prize for her achievements.
The singer-songwriter, actress and activist has long combined the musical traditions of her West African home country of Benin with American R&B, funk and jazz elements.
She has earned a reputation as “Africa’s premier diva” (TIME magazine) along the way, producing an influential body of work infused with an adventurous spirit and featuring a star lineup of collaborators such as Alicia Keys, Peter Gabriel and Philip Glass.
Kidjo’s latest Grammy award came in 2022 for her most recent album of original music, Mother Nature, which is both a love letter to the planet and a celebration of musical diversity. It saw her joining forces with the most captivating young creators of West African music, Afrobeat, Afro-pop, hip-hop and R&B.
Kidjo’s Mother Nature tour is now coming to the Hong Kong Arts Festival, promising an evening of joyous musicality and the sublime sounds of the African diaspora. Don’t miss your chance to see the artist described by The Guardian as one of the most influential women in the world!
