About the Artists
Hsin-Ying LIU
Hsin-Ying LIU (b.1991) was born in Taiwan. She received her training at the Art Students League of New York in 2013 and graduated from Taipei National University of the Arts in 2015 with a BFA. She is currently based in Malaysia. LIU's works have been displayed in numerous international exhibitions, including AKI Gallery in Taiwan (2023), Richard Koh Fine Art in Singapore (2021), Richard Koh Fine Art in Malaysia (2018), Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts in Kaohsiung (2019), G13 Gallery in Malaysia (2020) but also included in the Collection of Louis Vuitton at the Gardens Mall in Malaysia (2019). She was awarded Kaohsiung Award of KMFA (2019) and bestowed with the Outstanding Art Prize of Creation from the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts (2015).
Hsin-Ying LIU's paintings reshape "reality, nature, and humanity" from a delicate and innocent perspective while contemplating the structure of the relationship with surroundings. Her artworks echo civilisation's infinite inner imagination through the scenery's cuts and capture. The flowing lines with her paintbrush and the use of different media enable the self-consciousness to be vividly revealed as if humans on the vast land keep building things upwards, piling up the symbols of civilisation layer after layer. The warmth and determination of the very pure soul can be found in LIU's vocabulary of her creations.

Ling-Yu TAI
Ling-Yu TAI (b.1985) was born in Taiwan, now lives and works in Leipzig, Germany. She graduated from Taipei National University of the Arts in 2008 with a BFA in Oil Painting Program, and then pursued her studies in Germany where she completed PhD in Textile Art at Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle in 2019. She has been awarded DAAD Preis (2016). Her works have been exhibited at AKI Gallery in Taiwan (2023), Intershop Galerie in Germany (2022), Artspace of The Hall I in Taiwan (2021), Burg Galerie im Volkspark in Germany (2018), Circus Variete in Germany (2016), and Galerie Hinten in Germany (2015).
Ling-Yu TAI collects memories and adopts the purely abstract sensation of responding to the images in actual space in praxis with fabric and oil painting. "The paintings use mediums to create a feeling of space on the canvas, and the fabric is thread interlacing which given three-dimensional space as sculpture." said by TAI. She explores possibilities between medias, every inspiration of the artist’s creation is scattered in the flow of daily life, and these moments are constantly accumulated in the perception of her.
