Taiwan's important artist Han Hsiang Ning's special exhibition "UNVEIL" 10 mixed media series works will be exhibited at YellowKorner Gallery! Portraits of Andy Warhol and Zao Wou Ki made public for the first time
YellowKorner is pleased to present a public exhibition again on 9th March. With the theme of "U N V E I L", exhibiting 10 mixed media series works of the internationally renowned and important modern artist “Han Hsiang Ning” who returned to Taiwan in recent years. Many exhibits, such as the portrait creations of Han Hsiang Ning's artist friends "Andy Warhol" and “Zao Wou Ki" when he was studying in the United States, are exhibited publicly for the first time. Admission to the 5 weeks exhibition is free, don’t miss out.
YellowKorner’s upcoming special exhibition "U N V E I L” will exhibit artist Han Hsiang Ning's "Impression", "Silk", "The Same Sun", "New York Soho","True or False" and other 10 mixed media series works. The exhibition takes "Silk" as the main concept, trying to explore contemporary art's thinking on media through the unrestricted creative form and creative review of Han Hsiang Ning. At the same time, with the definition of photography as an art form, it conveys the concept of photography art that YellowKorner constantly advocates:" The camera is only one of the tools of the artist, the medium should never frame the creation of photography art.
Han Hsiang Ning is an important artist of modern art. Briefly after graduating from the National Taiwan Normal University, he was invited to become a member of the “Fifth Moon Group’’. After moving to New York, he was influenced by minimal art and pop art, and developed a technique that combines stippling and photorealism, eventually became his signature “dot” style, also opened up his style of experimenting with various creative media. His works have been exhibited and collected in major art museums around the world, such as Paris Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Brooklyn Museum of Art. Together with the architect I.M. Pei, he was selected as one of the outstanding Chinese-American artists in the ‘‘US Two-Year Anniversary Immigration Artist Special Exhibition’’. Over 80 years old, Han Hsiang Ning is still not restricted by age, possessing avant-garde creative thinking and continuous creative energy.
Joseph Chen, CEO of YellowKorner Taiwan, said that it is a great honor to have the opportunity to hold a special exhibition with the internationally renowned Taiwanese national artist Han Hsiang Ning, and took this rare opportunity to plan an art salon lecture, inviting Professor Tseng Yu Chuan as an academic consultant and panelist, to explore the relationship between "photography art" and "creative media".
In addition, YellowKorner teams up with moom bookshop, a well-known photography bookstore in Taiwan, to select photography books that echo the main concept during the exhibition, and to share moom bookshop's unique book selection taste with more art lovers. On the opening day of the exhibition, OKEY COFFEE Taiwan’s drip coffee brand, which continues to devote itself to humanities and art, would also prepare a limited amount of coffee inspired by the artist’s work, inviting everyone to immerse themselves in the artist’s creation and experience the beauty of specialty coffee.

About the Artist
Han Hsiang Ning

Han Hsiang Ning was born in Chongqing, in 1939, and graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Taiwan Normal University in 1961. After graduation, he became one of the important members of the avant-garde modern painting group "Fifth Moon Group" in Taiwan. In his early years, he already experimented with multimedia and had begun shooting super 8mm film, painting with paint rollers, and so on. After moving to New York in 1967, influenced by minimal art and pop art, he developed a technique that combines stippling and photorealism, eventually became his signature “dot” style, has gradually been included in atypical photorealism. In 1971, he held a solo exhibition at the well- known O.K. Harris Gallery in New York, and became a long-term contract artist; in 1976, he was selected into the "US Two-Year Anniversary Immigration Artist Special Exhibition" at the Hirsch Museum of Art in Washington, and represented Asian artists with architect I.M. Pei. In recent years, the focus has returned to Taiwan and established his art studio in New Taipei City for creation.
