Hong Kong Observatory Open Day 2023 Introduction

Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) will organize “HKO Open Day” on 25 March (Saturday) and 26 March (Sunday) 2023 to showcase the work of HKO and to celebrate the 140th anniversary of the Observatory.
Adopting the theme of the World Meteorological Day this year, “The Future of Weather, Climate and Water across Generations”, the exhibitions of the Open Day will promote public awareness on climate change and showcase how the HKO applies the latest technology to provide various services including weather forecasting, aviation weather, microclimate monitoring and radiation monitoring.
The visit is available in different time slots for registration. When there is oversubscription, selection will be made by computer balloting.

Entry Details
- Free admission, pre-registration online
- Participants must enter with the QR code admission ticket.
- Deadline and time to apply for free admission tickets: March 6, 2023 at 12:00
- If the number of applicants exceeds the limit, it will be processed by computer lottery. Those who successfully obtained the admission ticket will receive the QR code admission ticket by email on or before March 14, 2023. Visitors must hold a valid admission ticket to visit.
- For open day inquiries, please call 9136 8654 during office hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm).
- Note: In addition to on-site visits, citizens can also visit the Observatory's Open Days online from March 25, 2023.
