AFTEC’s ‘‘Plays for Young People’’ III reaches its finale! The Reader's Theatre will be live streamed on 12 March 2022 (Sat) at 2:30pm. Five winning translated plays will be revealed, read by Bravo! young actors. Find out which of the 19 local emerging translators will make it to the stage! Plays for Young People is a project very close to AFTEC’sheart. As a bilingual Learning TheatreTM for young people, we have created this event whereby emerging translators engage first-hand with playwrights from Europe and Asia. AFTEC believes in widening the vision of young people to perceive other cultures beyond. We hope these overseas plays will be offered to schools, youth centres and tertiary institutions for staging and meaningful discussions. 20 local emerging translators were steeped in five full days of intensive and interactive workshops with the playwrights, directors and veteran translators in October 2021. In this Reader’s Theatre, extracts from one winning translation per play will entice you into the magic of words.
