Doi Suthep is a well-known mountain in Northern Thailand that is also home to Wat Phra That temple, a sacred site among the Thai people. Wat Phra That has a variety of statues, temples, and beautiful architecture that will give you a peek about the Thai Buddhist culture. You’ll also be rewarded with a breathtaking view of Chiang Mai after a short hike. You’ll then stop by Bhubing Palace, the winter residence of the Thai royal family. Here you can appreciate the magnificent architecture and interiors of the palace as well as its well-manicured garden. Genial. El norte de Tailandia es mucho, mucho mejor para mí. Pude vislumbrar un poco de la historia tailandesa.
Aproximadamente a las 9:00 de la mañana, el guía nos recogió en el hotel para llevarnos al Templo Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. Éramos unas 16 personas en un minibús con asientos un poco apretados. El guía dio explicaciones detalladas. Después, visitamos el Palacio Bhubing. Alrededor de las 12:00 del mediodía, regresamos al casco antiguo. El guía incluso le pidió al conductor que nos dejara cerca de un lugar donde queríamos comer pollo a la barbacoa, lo cual fue muy amable.
El Palacio Bhubing Rajanives está temporalmente cerrado por mantenimiento y fue reemplazado por la Aldea Hmong, por lo que no pudimos visitarlo. El Templo Wat Phra That Doi Suthep es como el Monasterio de los Diez Mil Budas en Hong Kong, construido en la ladera de una montaña, y se puede subir en teleférico. La entrada ya estaba incluida y vale la pena visitarlo.
Un itinerario excelente, el guía Prince fue genial y hablaba muy bien chino. ¡Este itinerario clásico es muy recomendable!
