Your overnight adventure in Mount Emei starts with an ascent up this holy mountain until you reach Baoguo Temple. This temple is considered the largest in all of Mount Emei and is frequently visited by local pilgrims and foreign travelers. You’ll be able to listen to the Buddhist prayers which lend a Zen atmosphere to the surroundings. During free time, you can explore the temple grounds and marvel at the tranquility of nature. You can also opt to see the temple’s sacred artifacts, of which there are many. One of them is a massive porcelain Buddha at the main hall. You will stay in the temple overnight so you can rise early in the morning for the early prayers and chants. Your adventures for the next day starts early as you’ll be able to learn kung fu from one of the local masters in the temple. Your required activities end here, but you’re free to explore more of the temple and take in the peaceful atmosphere before you make your own way back to Chengdu.
