Transport in Gyeongju

Highly recommended if you are someone who wants to plan and have the tickets on hand. Booking - allocate plenty of time from arrival airport until you get to Seoul Station. At Incheon, the Immigration queue was long and I nearly missed the KTX, lucky I took the Express to Seoul and got there with 5mins to spare. Anyway, booking was a smooth process! The ticket arrived a day after I paid, very quick and efficient. It has the car and the seat number you have been allocated. When you arrive Seoul Station, get to the massive screens where the platforms are displayed. Your platform only shows 15mins before departure. Go to your platform, find your carriage/car number, then off you go to your seat. Noone actually checked my ticket on-board, but as people get on and off, they are allocated a seat. Getting off the train was easy enough as well. My tip is to just get to the train stations early. I have attached a photo of my ticket with "SAMPLE TICKET" on it, so you can see what it looks like.

I requested a 5-hour charter. 8:30 Depart hotel 9:10 Haedong Yonggungsa Temple 10:30 Daritdol Skywalk 11:40 Gamcheon Culture Village 13:30 Arrive at hotel Our guide, Rew, was fluent in Japanese, and it was fun to talk to him a lot. He was also a careful driver and even took care of the items we left behind in the car. It was our first time in Busan & traveling with children, so it was very helpful to be able to visit the places we wanted to go at our own pace. We were happy to have so many pictures taken.

Jack was helpful to customise our trip to include Tongdosa besides the scheduled itinerary of Seokguram Grotto, Bulguksa and Hwangnidan-gil Street. He drove safely which was important to us, and went beyond his job by guiding us with knowledgeable commentary of the temples and artifacts. Jack spoke fluent Chinese. We recommend him too for his engaging and friendly personality.
