Tokyo City, Private and Customized City Exploration Walking Day Tour

Wonderful! We were anxious about finding our way around Tokyo, especially bus and train transit. Mariko met us at our hotel, she helped us navigate the trains and even explained all of the lines to us. on our way to our destination, she gave us a history teaching about the Meiji Shrine, she taught us how to make an origami samurai hat, she was super sweet and kind. We visited Harijuku, shibuya and she showed us the way to our next adventure. Highly recommend the private tour! we had 5 in our group and it was great to ask questions and have a personal guide for our first day! Mariko was truly and treasure.

Very happy with our tour with Yuko. She communicated with me prior to come up with an itinerary to suit us. We booked the 6 hour tour with a plan to see some of Shinjuku/Shibuya (Meiji shrine, loyal dog statue, Shibuya crossing) and then head out to Asakusa (Sensoji temple and souvenir shopping). There were 6 of us including a few older family members. Yuko was very friendly, always checking on us to make sure we were all together, and knew a lot about the history of the places we went. She knew her way around and taught us how to navigate the train system with ease. She helped us find a nice local place to eat for lunch as well. We booked the tour the day after we landed and thanks to Yuko we feel confident to navigate more of Tokyo on our own. She even gave us tips on which lines to catch when we get the bullet train next week. Thankyou Yuko for your kindness and guidance! Arigato Gozaimasu!

amazing day with Yuko. this was our first day in Tokyo and Yuko showed us how to get tickets on the train, navigated the crowds to see Meiji shrine and sensoji temple with time for shopping and a stop for some ramen. a great way to get accustomed to Tokyo.

Taro was our awesome guide for the day, and he went above and beyond to ensure we used every minute of his expertise, in all things Tokyo! He was friendly and kind, and was a world of knowledge. He even showed great patience when I asked for train advice 1000 times, and made sure we were set for the days ahead. He also took some great photos along the way and sent them to me. Thank you so much Taro 😊 Highly recommend for all first time visitors.

Mr. Koji was our tour guide and he was wonderful. Knowledgeable of area, great with kids! It was a great asset to have on our first day in Tokyo. He worked very hard and allowed changes to the schedule to accommodate our children and their needs/wants. We are thankful for Koji!

For our very first day in Japan with absolutely no prior visit or knowledge, we needed a local guide to show us how to navigate the train systems. Other tours I was looking at charged the same amount PER PERSON! I paid around USD 310 for the 3 of us for 8 hours of the custom tour. With other tours, I'd have paid USD 900+ which is ridiculous. I was given a tour plan based on my hotel location but I also modified it with the places I want to visit. You can customize it as you like or just leave it for your guide to plan! Our guide helped us navigate the trains. We had lunch together and had our local etiquette questions answered. It's also important to note our independent guide, Mr. Koji was a certified tour guide in all of Japan. He's knowledgeable in all aspects of Japanese history and customs. I'd say that $310 for 8 hours was worth it for the tour, navigating the trains, asking questions, Japanese history, and customs. Mr. Koji even helped us buy Shinkansen tickets to Kyoto. I'd highly recommend it. Even a 4-hour tour would be very helpful for a complete beginner to Japan.
