Yogyakarta: Borobudur Sunrise ( Guarantee Climb-up) & Prambanan

it's considerably more expensive than if you were to organize yourself, BUT, I think it's worth it. My driver Adit was very helpful, and punctual. He also very friendly and provided me with a lot of information. The trip was smooth, he helped handle all the tickets, processes. The car was spacious , clean and had bottled water and tissue ready. I got to cover 2 temple complexes within a morning. I would recommend to someone wanting to travel without fuse, save energy for exploring and wants something time-efficient and safe.

Ujeee was our tour guide and driver for this trip, and the experience was excellent! Before the tour, he contacted us via a messaging app, and on the day of the tour, he picked us up promptly at 3:15 AM. His driving skills were superb! Throughout the trip, Ujeee chatted with us, and on the way back, he even introduced us to the streets of the city as we passed through, making for a very friendly experience. Upon entering Borobudur, another guide led our small group (likely a dedicated staff member provided by the park). Although the weather was a bit cloudy that day and we didn't see the sunrise, we happened to encounter monks meditating, and the morning was very peaceful, allowing us to fully appreciate the beauty of the religion. The surrounding mountains were also beautiful! Breakfast was a buffet. Most participants in the sunrise tour were Westerners, and we noticed they ate very little and left quickly. However, as Taiwanese, we found the fried noodles, stir-fried beef, and banana pancakes to be delicious! After breakfast, we went to Prambanan Temple, which also features very distinctive religious architecture. The stairs here are quite steep, so be careful when going up and down! On the way to the exit, you'll pass through a market-like area, which is also worth exploring. We also stopped at a civet coffee place, and the civet cats were adorable!

Fun and amazing trip! waking up at 3AM to see the sunrise from Borobudur temple was all worth it! Prambanan temple is also worth the visit even in the scorching sun. Requested a quick visit to the Chicken Church which was near Borobudur temple and I was surprised about the facts abouth this “church.” - I think this should also be part of the tour! :) My driver/guide Arya was very friendly and accompdating. He made sure I was comfortable throughtout the tour.

Ujeee is the driver for our tour, he is punctual on picking us for our Sunrise tour in Borobudur. My friend and I was very well taken care of by Ujeee. Borobudur and Prambanan tour is a must when in Jogja! But with Ujeee, the experience become wholesome.

A worthwhile experience! Besides the beautiful sunrise, we learnt so much about the rich cultural heritage of Yogyakarta in just one day. Our tour guides Kenny and Akmal were knowledgeable, fun-loving and answered all our questions. Special shout out to our driver Ujeee, who was really reliable and arrived at our hotel even earlier than our meeting time so that we were ready to go once we gathered at the lobby. He reserved the tickets on our behalf beforehand and guided us through the admin process for the temple visits step-by-step, which was helpful as we were not familiar with it. He also shared good recommendations on local places to visit and went the extra mile to answer our queries. He is friendly and speaks English well, which really made the day comfortable and pleasant even though we started very early in the morning. Overall, besides the views and cultural heritage, the amazing hospitality of our guides and driver was the cherry on top that made this a five-star experience!

Had a smooth sailing trip to both Borobudur and Prambanan Temple thanks to our guide AG. He was really attentive at accommodating to our needs and made sure we were comfortable. He also recommended a few eating spots and helped us out when we needed some other tour arrangements.

Although the tour wasn't cheap, it was a wonderful experience, and a special thanks to my tour guide, Ary. I purchased the tour that departs at 8:00 AM to visit both Borobudur and Prambanan in one day. After booking the night before, Klook customer service immediately contacted me via WhatsApp to confirm the itinerary, hotel pickup, etc. Although customer service momentarily mixed up my itinerary, thankfully it was resolved right away after I pointed it out. I strongly recommend installing WhatsApp in advance, as locals are accustomed to using this messaging app for communication. Before departure on the day of the tour, the guide will contact you once more using their personal account. On the morning of the tour, the guide-cum-driver arrived at the hotel right on time for pickup. My guide, Ary, is a wonderful person and very easy to talk to. If you don't feel like chatting and just want to rest, that's completely fine too—he won't make things awkward. Since I was traveling alone as a female, I was initially a bit worried, but the whole experience turned out to be quite comfortable. Upon arriving at Borobudur, I first handed the cash for both temple tickets (855,000 Indonesian Rupiah) to the guide. The guide takes care of the tickets, the guided tour, getting the traditional straw sandals, etc. You just need to follow your guide. After getting your tour number tag, you change into the straw sandals in the waiting area until the official guide gathers everyone. The guided tour for Borobudur is already included in the package (though for Prambanan, you need to pay an additional 150,000 Indonesian Rupiah, a detail Klook doesn't seem to have explained very clearly). The guided tour lasts for one hour, during which your private guide will not accompany you. It is recommended to confirm the meeting time and location in advance so as not to delay the next part of the itinerary. Your private guide will take the shoes you changed out of and keep them safe in the car. For lunch, Ary recommended a restaurant with a great view and reasonable prices. We arrived at Prambanan in the afternoon. You can request a Chinese-speaking guide (for an extra fee of 150,000 IDR; if traveling with a group, the cost can probably be split), but the Chinese guides were fully booked on that day, so I opted for an English-speaking guide instead. I highly recommend getting a guide, as it helps you better understand the architecture and the stories behind it. A big thank you again to my guide, Ary, and I recommend that everyone request Ary when booking this tour. He is a truly nice guy, and when I ran short on cash midway through, he even lent me money 😂. The only hiccup during the process was a slight delay when meeting up due to some unclear communication, but he has a great temperament 😂. It doesn't matter if your English isn't great; he patiently waited for me to use translation software to communicate. All in all, I definitely recommend requesting Ary directly~ *If you want to buy postcards, I suggest asking your guide so you can find a cheaper shop. *If you have an immediate need to exchange currency, you can also discuss it with your guide.

We had a great experience with our tour. Seeing Borobudur and Prambanan in person and witnessing the rising sun over the stupa and the surrounding forest was a truly magical experience. Our driver/guide, Ujeee was very warm and accommodating. He also add local perspective to both places and with really made it memorable to us. Thank you so much! The experience was amazing. It was an easy booking. Everything was taken care of, from the pick-up and drop off. My driver tour guide Ujee was wonderful and friendly. He made sure everything was in place and that I won't have any problem with my tickets. The car was cool and comfortable. He even organised a tour guide for me on my Prebanam tour. Akmal, my tour guide. was excellent and a wealth of knowledge. He explained the history of Prebanam with details. He took his time and did not rush. It was an overall satisfying experience.

excellent tour covering both Borobudur and Prambanan on the same day. Adit was our driver. He’s very nice and helpful, trying to look for a good guide for us for Prambanan. He also brought us a chicken church upon requested (please note that extra fare incurred are borne by ourselves). Sunrise at Borobudur was good. When we arrived at Prambanan, the weather was already hot and humid. Might be better to do Prambanan on another day.
